I've been here 3 times and plan to keep coming back but not for the gator.Their fried baskets are great if you want lots of french fries with a side of deep fried battered protein. Avoid the gator. I'd take that off the menu if I could. It's just tiny strips of mystery meat coated with too much batter to get any flavor, texture, or any indication that there's gator at all. I'm pretty sure they also dribble extra batter into the frier to bulk up the order too. Seriously not good. Especially not with that premium price they charge for it. If you told me it was chicken skins cut into 1/4" chunks then deep fried I'd believe it.I'm still happy to give it a five star rating though, because I can't fault them for what I ordered, I'm only leaving this review as a warning to other people. Everything else I've had so far seemed worth the price and tasted great. Next time I'll stick to the seafood boils. Plus eating with your hands in those big plastic gloves is fun.
I don't really eat seafood, but I did try the prawns, which was really good with the mix sauce $175 seafood boil platter, that can easily feed 5-7 adults. Catfish, chicken wings, and garlic truffle oil fries was ?. Reservations for a group of 8 or more is highly recommended. Walk-ins are not recommended. Parking can be tricky too. Definitely a place I'll go back too and recommend trying.
If I could give this place plus stars I would! Food is amazing as well as the service, our server offered to help us break up the seafood which was very helpful and attentive. This place is super family friendly and comfortable we will definitely be coming back! Amazing food, would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try seafood boil in Honolulu.
My husband who loves to eat followed his nose and found this place. It is conveniently located close to Ala Moana Shopping Center, across from Walmart. We felt it was very reasonably priced for the $45.00 for 2, Crawfish choice which came with shrimp, clams, mussels, corn, potato & rice. We upgraded to Kuai prawn for just $3 - great idea! We chose the Da mix sauce and spicy - perfect. Having been to New Orleans 5 times, we know good seafood boils. Servers were so helpful and wonderful which always makes a dining experience more pleasant and memorable. We will go back for sure before the end of our trip.
Came here on the weekend. Ordered the 6 pound seafood bag with 6 extra ears of corn for $4 a piece, a fried shrimp basket with regular fries and Cajun wing basket with Cajun fries. I only received one order of Cajun fries and no regular fries even though asked multiple times. The Cajun wings and fries were extra crispy and burned a bit.The 6 pound seafood bag was okay quality but lacked in seasoning. The extra ears of corn I ordered were only half an ear each. When I finally got my bill they tried to charge me 18% gratuity even though a gratuity was not mentioned anywhere in the menu I was given. That's when the manager pulled out a different menu and showed me where it mentioned gratuity. She said the menu I was initially given was an old menu. Looking at the menu I was also charged $8 extra for my Cajun fries even though the menu said it was $1 extra. Pretty bad experience.
This place is just not good. The flavors are not there. They also charge for additional sause. We ordered a 6 pounder and some set meals with fries. Compare those to the ones in LA are just no comparison and the LA ones I'm referring to are not very authentic Louisiana style. The prices are not cheap. We end up getting subways next door after. The yam fries are good though
I love this place ❤️ all of servers especially a male server was so great!(I forgot his name?) He was so professional! I wanna go here as much as I can.
Lunch special was wonderful.sevice is excellent.crawfish so heads up peel before you eat.when they say spicy they mean it 20 is hot!!!!!!but it's worth tasting.
They should add a salad or something to the menu and provide drink refills. The price was a bit high - the flavor of the kickin garlic sauce is SUPER GOOD with the fresh local prawns. Soft shell crabs kind of small but still tasty.
So Kickin Frickin good!!!!! Best dinner on the island. Staff was awesome, Ty was super friendly and Joshua was helpful and engaging! The calamari was delicious and boil (lobster) was off the hook. They even kept it mild with their special spice and made a extremely hot sauce for my crazy husband. We would come back to Oahu just for Kickin Kajun! Thanks to our Uber drive Fabian for the suggestion!!!
