Always great food at fair price. Don't tell the tourists. We need to keep this place for us locals.
Yikes, avoid. I came here twice for some reason. Because I love Mexican food. But it's awful.
Good food, very nice staff... and a happy hour deal on the appetizers and drinks, including pitchers of margaritas! The interior decor could use an update but that's just a nice to have!
Horrible experience every order was wrong except my one margarita that was served in a small wine glass. Our server apologized but seemed like she had been drinking on the job and when our actual food order came it wasn’t what I ordered. The man had a attitude and rolled his eyes four times when I was trying to explain the order. I then confirmed my order from the menu to make sure I didn’t make a mistake and I was correct. We tried explaining that the Sierra Mist was flat and he had a come back and was argumentative. I have been a mixologist and in the service industry for 7 years now and never have I been treated this way. I had to ask to speak to the manager/supervisor 5 times before she came out after he dropped our $70 bill with everything on the tab which we didn’t even eat because the food was Terrible and I lost my appetite, which I had just worked a 10 hr shift and was super hungry. We left shocked and even the manager said that the guy had personal issues which then I replied that he shouldn’t be in the service industry or work anywhere with that attitude. I was happy to tip our original waitress and we paid for our two drinks after the manager took our food orders off. I’m not one to complain as I understand that everyone makes mistakes I’ve made them but completely was in shock of the the way he treated us. Horrible food and unprofessional.
Macho Nachos and beef enchiladas. Very tasty. Too much for one person. Delicious.
Ordered a Ranchera enchilada and the sauce was definitely not Ranchera style and was overly greasy and unappetizing. The staff we obviously stressed out and the place felt really dirty…
Great Mexican food! Even though it’s not authentic it was delicious. We got great service, as soon as we sat down we had fresh crunchy crispy tortilla chips and salsa. Drinks and food came fast and server was always making sure we had enough chips which was awesome. Totally recommend. As hang out with friends and also for families ?? If driving make sure you bring some quarters for the parking meter (I gambled and didn’t pay and luckily didn’t get a ticket).
The atmosphere is very nice (sports bar feels) and there is plenty of parking! The tacos (chicken) are delicious and come with a hard shell. I enjoyed it here and will eat here again.
Very relaxing place, very much like a local sports bar hangout with very good food and some wonderful service. The food is good, a bit more Americanized Mexican cuisine, still very well prepared. The chips n salsa were great, a spicy lightly chunky salsa. A side of their homemade guacamole was a definite accompaniment, really creamy, with a bit of chunky texture as well!A wide range of standard and specialty drinks, and beer, my friend had his usual Negra Modelo and server brought a nice chilled glass with lime. I chose to have one of their premium house margaritas, The Agave special blended. Our server recommended this particular one blended as the agave is thicker and can settle to the bottom when just on the rocks. She absolutely knew her menu and cocktails. An excellent fresh tasting, smooth cocktail !I had Albondigas soup, steaming hot, wonderful vegetables and a light, yet distinctive, beef and tomato based broth. My friend had a combination plate with two items, a chicken enchilada and chili relleno, refried beans and Spanish rice. The chili relleno was the largest I've ever seen, and with just a small taste tes , it was perfectly battered and fried with melted cheese oozing out the sides. The flavor was on the mild side, yet excellent and well seasoned. My entree was the large Rojo pork and chili burrito. Very tender and tasty, again having a mild seasoning to please most customers. Though I prefer a spicier version, the taste was fresh, homemade, and really good. The abundantly huge portion was enough to take half home, to share with myself for tomorrow lunch! We skipped dessert as we were both pleasantly full! The atmosphere and food quality passed on all levels, and the greatest part of our relaxing visit was by far, the wonderful person who served us. Her name is Iona. Ask for her when you have dinner at Jose's. She is one of the most personable, knowledgeable servers who is sincerely genuine. From her immediate greeting upon entry, to her recommendations and quality service (yes, though very busy, she was able to continuously check back with us, remove empty items, and keep our table clean), she was awesome! Iona also personalizes her service with a bit of conversing guests at each table, providing a homey atmosphere, as if chatting with a long time friend. Iona presents the highest level of service quality and genuine character to your visit. Down to earth, yet friendly, intelligent, and highly accommodating, she presents herself at the top of her profession. And she made our late afternoon lunch/early dinner an unexpected and most gracious experience! Mahalo to Jose's and especially Iona for the great experience!
We celebrated our 14th anniversary here and the food was so amazing and authentic.
