In-laws brought me to this place today. Had crab, lots of shrimp, duck in a bun (Didn't know this was a concept, tasty.), mushroom, beef, with massive vegetable, some type of white fish with vegetable... (MASSIVELY delicious.) It was heavenly. The waitstaff was highly attentive (they deserve a monetary bonus beyond their tips.) Was in a low-light private setting. Very high standards this place in terms of quality.
TOURIST TRAP!! Stuff is pricey with little quality or service. Most dimsum servings is $5-$6 an order and was small portioned and unsavory. Staff wasnt too friendly, didnt understand english, and operationally odd since they require your order slip each time as they bring stuff to your table piecemeal. Table was covered but broken underneath. Better quality overall at Yung Yee Kee five minutes away OR in the Chinatown area.
My wife and I were shopping at the Ala Moana mall and she really likes dim sum. While it was a little difficult to find the place on the very top floor of the mall, we were seated immediately despite there being a heavy lunchtime crowd. Due to the pandemic they are not rolling the normal carts about the place to display their dishes however, they have a menu with pictures, brief descriptions, and check boxes so you can mark what you want and how many of each item. As with most restaurants of this type, not all of the employees speak and/or understand English so you have to be patient when trying to communicate what you want or have questions about. Overall, the quality of the food was better than most dim sum places we have visited and therefore the prices were also higher. While very busy, there is also free parking at the mall. We felt this place was well worth the visit and we will keep this place in mind for future visits.
they have a huge sign in the front advertising Dim sum until 5:30PM. We went at 4:00 and in non understandable English were told they were closed and would open at 5:30. The only word we fully understood was sorry. Why advertise something that is not available. Take the sign down !!!!!
This place needs a good cleaning. Everything feels sticky or greasy. Could not drink the tea because the teacup felt greasy, and had a bad( chemical) smell. And, 1 teacup had a tiny dead roach in it!!! The spoon and container for the chili sauce was downright dirty!!! It was either rust on the spoon, or really old, dried, discolored chili sauce. The food was a little pricey, but everything seemed to be freshly made to order. We ordered an assortment of dim sum items, and unlike other places, they seem to make items hot and fresh when you order it. The variety was good. So, if they would give everything a thorough cleaning, they would get at least 1, maybe 2 more stars.
Came here with a party of 11. Didn’t take pictures of everything. Snow mountain char siu bau was good and different from what I’ve had anywhere else, they are sweet on top. They are very busy on weekends. Go early. There was a seafood stuffed fried tofu that was really good too. We got all the regular stuff like haw gow, shiu mai and shrimp and beef rolled noodles.
The food was good. Not great but definitely good. I would go again as almost everything was delicious. The issue was it took 30mins to get the first part of dim sum out to me. Another couple showed up after me, got their food, ate their food, and was paying by the time I got the first thing I ordered. It was incredibly busy so that may have been the issue. Again, I would go again.
What you see on the menu is what you get, it was delish, i just wised they'd do special orders upon request, of course with a certain upcharge is fine with me as long as they do it, but they don't, so i can't issue a 5 star for this restaurant, food quality is 5 stars service is 5 stars however patrons special request 1 star which pulls the 5 stars to a 4 star ?
I'll always say yes to dim sum. Their chili wonton and shrimp+chives dumplings were my favorite. We also ordered their fried rice which needed more shoyu so I wouldn't order that dish again but everything else was tasty!
Another one of the Asian restaurants we tried in Honolulu. This place is massive with plenty of seating with even private alcoves. The menu is extensive with a wide variety of choices. This place is perfect for large groups. The food was typical, delicious, and generous. the bar was equipped for any type of cocktail or drink. The prices were very reasonable . The atmosphere was a bit noisy like a cafeteria. There were private side booths which made it more romantic. the seafood was exceptional, try the crab or the lobster, very fresh right out of the tank. The only minor problem were the waiters which had a little difficulty with the English language besides that friendly and helpful.
