The best food, hands down. Incredible experience. Fun, casual, family atmosphere but with absolutely the best izakaya food ever. The wagyu steak, sashimi, mushrooms, crispy shrimp - the list goes on and on. We are here on the first night of our weeklong hawaii trip and literally nothing else has compared. Do not miss this place!!Also.. small parking lot but there’s an overflow lot which is pretty big.
Too late to take any pictures because we cleaned every plate!Agadeshi Tofu was my favorite but we also enjoyed the scallops, soy butter fish, yakitori. All great. Definitely took us back to the days of visiting izakayas in Japan. Highly recommended!
The food was good and service was very quick too. We had the C course, tori kara, natto (depends on personal preference, I personally like it), chawanmushi, beef tataki.
At least the toilets were clean and the restaurant had air conditioning. We were extremely disappointed with the food here. A prior reviewer had written that this was just like going to Japan. We have been to Japan 8 times in 5 years, and love Japanese food. This is easily the worst meal we have ever had in a Japanese restaurant inside or outside Japan. Where to begin. The fried items were soggy with oil. The agedashi tofu -- a basic dish that should be striking in its simplicity and purity of taste -- was completely bland. The sushi was overpriced and the fish was not of high quality. We will not be returning.
Good price for authetic Japanese sake. Nice dishes. A bit loud atmosphere, but acceptable as an izakaya.
Food was good! But it doesn’t match how nonbei was many years before they sold the restaurant.

Great izakaya with a big variety of delicious treats. We were also able to get a reservation with short notice which was a plus. They took temperatures and took contact tracing info so we felt super safe.
Had an excellent experience here. Made a same day reservation. Waiter was great. The ribeye was excellent as well as the sushi and braised pork belly. My wife has celiac disease and is gluten-free it was the first time in years she was able to do order a California roll because it was made with real crab and not the “imitaysh”. Thank you Mr. B
