Excellent shave ice. Great flavors and the ice is soft and fluffy. Depending on the time of day the line and wait could be quite long. You place the order on a tablet at the food stand. I prefer this to Matsumoto's and it is right there on Waikiki.
We visited Hawaii and tried this place because the review was quite high. I have to say that this is also one of our best shave ice place we have been too. It's so good and a bit different from a lot of places we have tried. No wonder it earns itself such a high rating. But one thing I have to say negative about this is the portion size is quite small. We didn't assume it will be that small compare to the image on their menu. They have use a different plating when we purchase it. But I still recommend this for anyone who is visiting to Hawaii.
It’s a must for anyone going to Oahu. I have tried almost all the flavors they provide. All of them were so good. Definitely recommend. The queue will always be long, but it’s worth the wait! Just take the serving to sit and enjoy amidst the lit torches, very close the shop. They use fresh fruit to make the syrup and that should be reason why it tastes so good. There are 2 or 3 gentlemen working diligently and creating these masterpieces- kudos to them!!
This place was awesome. The lines are sometimes long but the shaved ice is great and so is the service. We actually visited twice.One side note, they don’t take your order, you simply key it in when you get to the front of the line and wait for your name to be called. It really efficient….If you’re in the area, stop by and enjoy!!
This is some solid shaved ice that is well worth the wait for the line you'll see. The line may take a bit, but this is not due to sluggish service; this is due to customers taking a while in the self-serve register. You can order the pre-made shave ice cups or you can build your own. You can add things like strawberry, soft ice cream, frozen yogurt, and etc. I got the mango shaved ice and it was delicious!
Worth the hype! Island Vintage Shave Ice is so incredibly delicious and a must have treat. The stand is located on the ground floor near the green space of the Royal Hawaiian. Even with lots of orders they were relatively quick (about 10 minutes) and so refreshing. You place your order on a tablet and wait to be called. Lots of benches nearby as well. You can't go wrong with any order.
Delicious! Ice was so soft. Melt in mouth instantly, no need to chew. Worth the wait. I wished they have more choices for the flavors tho.I got coconut, pineapple, and strawberry flavor with condenser milk topped. For strawberry flavor, they use fresh strawberry puree instead of syrup. It was pretty delicious.
On my third trip to Hawaii I finally got around to trying the famous Shave Ice. Now I am kicking myself for waiting so long. Get it!
I loved Island Vintage Shave Ice, went there twice during my visit to Honolulu. We got the Heavenly Lilikoi and the Hawaiian Rainbow and both tasted delicious. The syrup tasted fresh and not artificial and the toppings were very fresh as well. I wish I was able to try all the flavors but alas.The line does get fairly long as long as is waiting for your shaved ice as it is done in a small shack with one or two people depending on the time of the day. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth it to try at least once while you're there.
A small shaved ice stand in the heart of Waikiki! Shaved ice was really good, plenty of different fruity flavors with all sorts of variety. Ordering was easy with a line behind a tablet kiosk, and the two workers making orders and calling them out. Simple and easy... and most importantly DELICIOUS!
