I went up there back in 2020 wasn't too good again I tried in 2022 hoping improvement little bit but still I'm not impressed, if you know the little bit about Indian food and the taste. this place is not professional. They just focused on food colors and MSG whole lot of masala to make gravy that's it. I ordered biryani it was like 3rd class fried rice and also mixed Tanduri goat n chicken curry plain naan roti none of these items were average they don't even know quality of dishes and how to prepare it's complete unhealthy. Trust me after having their food you defiantly feel thirsty at night. I don't know what u guys doing but me personally NO GO.
The food is overall good but not exceptional. The chicken vindaoo was somewhat dry and lacked depth. Biriyani seems like fast food quality and also the rice was way over cooked and almost mush. But the chaat and eggplant were very good and so was naan. Service is hit and miss it’s very attentive one moment then you feel left alone at times too.
Went in with high hopes for this place. The atmosphere is 10 out of 10! Which made me more excited then the food came. I got the butter chicken which I find is a good indicator of a good Indian restaurant and it was just ok. Wait staff seemed to be confused I got waited on by 4 different people and the Naan was just OK as well. They also charged me for rice on to of the butter chicken I have never seen that. Might come back to try some Nepali food but not the Indian food.
The Himalayan Kitchen is in a shopping center in the former India Café. They offer outdoor seating, take-out, and delivery. My daughter chose this restaurant because she is a vegan and enjoys Indian food. Expect to wait 20 to 40 minutes as the food is prepared when the order is placed. Looking through the window, it must have had limited seating inside prior to Covid. My husband and I ordered the lunch hour special Chicken Tikka Plate, chicken marinated in spices, grilled and served with basmati rice and curry of the day, for $13.95 each. Spice levels range from one to 10. The level 5 was American-spicy. This dish was good. My daughter ordered the garlic naan ($3.50), Biagan Bharta (eggplant (14.95)) and Himalayan Dai (yellow lentils ($12.95) and was very happy with her choice. The total was $70.50 including tip.
Great ambiance, good service! We wanted momos but unfortunately they do not serve momo anymore ?!The chicken tikka could be more creamy!
The Tika Masala is to die for!, such great flavor and great portion sizes, the Naan bread is super yummy too!
Being a Nepali restaurant, we went there primarily for Momos (Dumplings) after driving for 35 mins. They were on the menu too but we were told that the restaurant stopped making them. This lead us to decrease from 5 to 4 stars since Momo is traditionally a Nepali food item. Nevertheless, we ordered Kathmandu Chicken Chilli, Chicken Curry, Garlic Naan, Roti and Raita and everything to be extremely delicious. We did find raita a little bit overpriced though at $6 but everything else was fine.
We came here for dinner after happening across it when visiting another dining location downstairs. The outside seating ambiance was very nice and the food was excellent as was the portion size. The wait staff was attentive. We very much enjoyed our meal and certainly recommend this restaurant.
Earthly little restaurant tucked away on the terrace of a 2 floor building offering satisfying food with deliciousness attached to it
