A great restaurant with excellent food and friendly staff. We enjoy the baked crab cake, island chopped salad, and Korean fried chicken wings - the whole family was thrilled!
Good food, good service. Liked the setting. At the time they had an issue with liquor license (but you were allowed to bring your own bottle of wine or beer). The mussels were great, so were the ahi tacos, and the lobster roll. It’s situated on the third floor, inside a lovely shopping mall, really nice at night. The staff was very sweet and attentive.
This is a restaurant of the highest order. We had not booked anywhere, struggling to find space. Unfortunately the menu didn't suit Me; so I was reluctant; however I had one of the best burgers ever and My family enjoyed everything. good decision.
Our new go-to seafood place! Highly recommended the smoked trout Caeser salad, seafood towers and all the desserts were top-notch (especially the Li Hing Mango Crepe dessert!) Our compliments to Masami, the pastry chef! Julian provided us with excellent service!
after many searches of restaurants while sitting by the pool, we settled on Herringbone. Located in the international marketplace in the center of Waikiki,Herringbone makes up for the lack of ocean with very nice outdoor lanai decor. Soft lighting and attentive staff. We decided to make it an evening of firsts. I’ve never been brave enough to try oysters, or caviar, especially on vacation. But hey, it was my birthday and my last day so, why not. Our server was knowledgeable about all the different types of oysters, and so we went for it. Surprisingly, they were pretty tasty. Especially with Kimchi minionette. We were on a roll, so we ordered the caviar! Pricey, but isn’t it everywhere? It was served beautifully with a little ice bowl covered in flowers. And perfect little pancakes which, being fat Americans, we thought we would need more to finish our dish, we did not. We fininshed with a crab cake to share just to round out our experience, which I might add, we did not need. (But we ate it anyway) all dishes were beautiful, fresh, and went well with our wine. All and all, the dinner was expensive.. We had a lovely time so we equated it to wandering around spending 400.00 on stuff we don’t need, or, an experience which i am sharing with you now. Life is short. Eat the cake, try the oyster, and, if your feeling bougie, order the caviar. YOLO. We will be back, perhaps to have that wine and oysters or perhaps our caviar in that little icy bowl with flowers at the bar.
Phenomenal experience. The food was tasty, the decor relaxing yet exciting, the staff super welcoming and attentive. Unexpected small slice of strawberry cake for a one-year anniversary. Found them from instagram. My brother was here apparently on a separate occasion and loved the restaurant. The food was fun and delicious. We had a papaya fruit boat and the king crab eggs Benedict. I noticed some smoked trout (?) eggs and uni on top. The hash brown seemed to be freshly made. It fell apart in your mouth with a soft yet crunchy crumble. Overall, it may seem a little pricey coming from the mainland, but prices seemed on par for something so great.
The kitchen saved this experience by preparing delicious food. The service was lacking to say the least, with server Mike making it clear he had very little knowledge of the menu or bar selections. We went long periods of time without seeing him at all. The seafood tower (“Sailboat”), burger, chop salad, and duck were all good but the service overshadowed it, topped off with an automatic 20% added gratuity for our party of THREE. Absolutely undeserved. We will not be returning and will happily make alternate recommendations for anyone looking for seafood.
Interestingly this restaurant belongs to the “Benihana” family which is also the “Crazy electronic DJ who throws cakes at people” family! (Aoki restaurant group)It’s upscale but not tasteful somehow, like there’s an element of actual care and attention missing. The decor is beautiful and thoughtful but it’s not quite fully modern or even fully cohesive, it’s like a hodgepodge. The food was good but felt simple; the oysters were small and flavorless, and the pasta while plated well was very bland. Same story for the pizza/flatbread situation. Prices were sky high given the quality and yes that’s the “Waikiki tax” talking, but I still expected a bit more.Everything is edible and safe, but it’s not inventive. It can be loud without feeling warm and cozy, if that makes sense.Service and waitstaff were excellent though, no complaints there. They did great. But somehow this place has a reputation for amazing sustainable food and just offers none of the actual charm or quality you’d expect.
One of the best dining experiences I had in Waikiki. The seafood pasta and the surf and turf was incredible. Beef check and mashed potato, lobster tail. Mentaiko pasta. All very decadent. Additionally, the little lamp at our dining table made it so intimate. The service was really friendly and I enjoyed it so much! We also got lucky and got seated right away and I enjoyed the atmosphere of dining there. Definitely a great date night place.
Great Staff. Great “Oyster Hour”
