Whoever is the sushi chef is a genius. The God of Fire roll and the Black Pepper ahi rolls are worth going here alone. But don't stop there, so many good appetizers, sashimi, rolls and all so fresh and tasty. They have an impressive bourbon menu and a full bar. Good eats and drinks. Easy to get to in the Royal Hawaiian Center and even if there is a wait, it's worth it.

Phenomenal sushi. Extremely fresh and huge pieces- the sushi was extremely big compared to the rice it was on! Quality was excellent. Hawaii is far from Kentucky but definitely will try to come back to have this experience again.
People who know me know that I love excellent sushi, and this place did not disappoint. I have tried a number of sushi bars in Honolulu, and they have ranged from just average to outstanding. Central to pretty much everything in Waikiki, this place has an outstanding selection of fresh fish as well as other dishes to tempt your Japanese food cravings.

The food was very tasty and well put together. I got the peppered ahi sushi roll and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was nice and inviting. I will eat here again.
Host very accommodating, food tasty, server helpful (we have a gluten allergy) and everyone was knowledgeable and cognoscente of wheat.
We ordered online and picked up at the restaurant. We were told that there is an automatic "wait time" for a pick up of 1 hour. About 30 minutes after placing an order the restaurant called saying that the order was ready. However, I never got the call but received a voicemail which I saw about 30 minutes after the missed call. By the time we got to the restaurant (which would have been approximately 1 hour after ordering), the food was sitting there for half an hour. We ordered fired cauliflower and yakisoba which were sitting there in the same bag with sushi/sashimi. Initially when the staff did not really know what to do but the manager was able to fix the issue. He was very nice and polite. He offered to have the entire order re-made on the spot for us. The food was delicious. The fish was fresh. The cauliflower was tasty. The yakisoba with chicken was very flavorful. Highly recommend this place. Despite, what happened we really appreciate what staff did! And the food was good!
I’ve read some not so good reviews on this place but as a local from another island, Doraku was amazing. This is a more “small plate” “pupu” style plates so this place is not for you if your looking for cheap, huge portion plates. If you enjoy good flavor and how sushi should really taste, then you will enjoy Doraku. The sushi rolls were not too over done with sauces. You could taste the flavor of fish. We also had the lamb which came out perfect. The pork belly yakisoba was bomb. Lots of noodles hiding under the pork belly as well as the spicy prawns. We had the lychee martini, which is the best lychee martini I’ve ever had. It’s not a bunch of lychee juice with a dash of more juices lol. Its freakin good. My favorite was the butterfly saketini. Just order it. We were very pleased with our dinner experience. We have not been able to enjoy a good night with good service. And not having to rush to eat just to accommodate everyone. We dont get the relaxed experience eating out much these days. So we really enjoyed ourselves
Came here with some friends and hole mole it was good. we ordered steak sushi and dessert. the staff was super friendly, and the location was perfect. A must hit when in hawaii
