I do not know what’s up with all the bad reviews. This place is a hidden gem. Let me first start by saying the kitchen is on point. Food comes out fresh and hot, wait staff is very friendly. Had no issues with the food, and honestly will eat here again. Marty our server was amazing and kind lady. She made sure everything was on point and up to our standards. Is it worth eating at yes is the prices fair yes.
Lazy white girls and over priced mediocre food. Took my order to go. Stood by the counter while lazy white girls just walked by me. Ordered the turkey sandwich and steak sandwich. Received steak sandwich with a whole steak not even sliced. Hard to eat and hard to chew. Turkey sandwich was underwhelming with cold and stale fries.
Food was less than average for similar restaurants. But what was horrible was the staff.Waitress just pointed at a table after we stated how many was in our party. Then we sat for 10 mins before another waiter finally brought us water and instead of a friendly greeting simply asked did we know what we wanted. Ordered an appetizer, deli style sandwich and a burger to split with husband and kids and all of it came out together instead of staggered with the appetizer first then meals. Then once finished waited another 10 mins for server to bring out the check. Maybe it’s just me but I have had better service at a fast food. Food can be subpar but the service should never be.
Captive audience breakfast turned out to be just what we wanted. You must try the Haulia French Toast. My usband had the corned beef hash and eggs. We were both quite pleased. We did take out and brought the yummies to the beach.
Food was pretty bland. Our group got several different meals and many lacked flavor. The sweet potato fries were good tho.
I ordered some food to go for me and my kids. Huge mistake. The girl that took my order was rude. My burger was so burnt I threw it in the garbage. Perhaps if I ate it there I would have received something resembling a burger. My sons mini-burgers were so small and burnt he refused to eat the second one. I’m giving this place 2 stars because the BLT sandwich was somewhat edible.
The only thing New York style here is the price.. Which is actually OUTRAGEOUSLY more expensive than it would ever be in NYC, trust me I'm born and raised there. $21 for a turkey sandwich would cause a riot in NYC ? ? Also Hoagie is a term used in Pennsylvania, not New York, never. They do however include HAIR FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE so that's a bonus right?? STAY AWAY AND SAVE $ AND YOUR HEALTH..
A ONE STAR REVIEW IS GENEROUS. we ordered two cheeseburger kid meals to go. one was fine but the other wasn’t even our food. it was a meal from a separate restaurant that was half eaten. we took it back to the restaurant and after we told a worker about the situation, another worker stepped up and starting laughing saying that it was her food and she had switched them around. she was laughing and going around telling the other workers about what she had done as if she was proud and it was funny.we demanded that we spoke to the manager and when he got out there she told him what she had done and laughed while telling him. all he did was shake his head. we got our money back but this experience was unforgettable. as we were walking away we saw the manager and the worker and all they did was talk as if they didn’t care.in the front of the restaurant you will notice that there is a counter with the registers on it. that’s right next to where they prepare and serve the food. the worker who switched around the meals had been eating her food right next to the kitchen and where peoples food is served.this restaurant is absolutely disgusting. if you come to Waikiki DO NOT EAT HERE!
Our family eat breakfast at CJ’s every morning. Food was good. Service was good (one lady server was unkind, everyone else was first class). Seating can be slow, prices are high, but that’s everywhere in Hawaii. Overall, we enjoyed this little restaurant better than any other place we eat.
