The food is so so and doesn’t look clean and small portion for each dish, and plus some bowls are cracked. The food looks better in pictures. The service is rough. Only a few servers in the entire room. As I came in, a waitress spoke Chinese to me regardless I understand or not. As I sat down to ready order some dishes, she threw the board with a barcode on it and talked to me Chinese and then walked away. I figured out I should can the barcode to order the food? Really weird? I am disappointed about the rough service and the food . I definitely won’t go back again!
We enjoyed everything we ordered. The food is ready very fast so some dish didn’t taste freshly prepared. Maybe it may not be true for every dish but fried rice was ready immediately after we ordered and it was not hot as it came out from wok so we wondered if it was made in advance. Other items were delicious!
Great Sichuan-style food. You can order online and pick up or order on your phone while dining in. We've done both and the food was great both times.
When my wife & I landed in Hawaii, this was the first place we went to even before going to our hotel. The reason for it was because I love a restaurant named Chengdu Taste in Las Vegas and have always considered it the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Having the exact expectations, we went there & found the food to be good (not the best), but the service was extremely poor. Nobody came to us to ask how the food tasted or even to refill our glass of water. We paid using the bar code on the table as no one even came to ask if they could get us the check. The worst part is that while leaving, the front desk person said that since we paid using the QR code, there was no tip and that we should pay the tip separately to him.
Absolutely delicious! Bold flavors and spicy! Tea’s to die for. The fried rice had fermented tea, amazing! A must visit when in the area.
It was good, the king pow chicken has a lot and I mean a lot of peanuts some fried some not, I could have done with almost none. The ? red chilies are over powering in the dish. The sauce and chicken was good what I could pick out. Most of it is in the trash. It smelled amazing in there. I wanted it to be so good. It was ok. I’d go back again and just alter my order a little. Free parking for first hour valet. That was nice. I tipped them of course.
Very authentic regional Chinese cuisine. Ma pao, toothpick lamb and spareribs with pineapple were all superb. Wait can be long and somewhat chaotic at times, but that us part if the authenticity. An excellent option in Honolulu.
Me and my two friends went to ChengDu taste last night. And we all got food poisoned except for one friend who barely ate. Spent today vomiting and diarrhea, absolutely horrible. Ruined our schedule for vacation as well. I recommend refrain from eating at this place for your health of the remaining vacation.
We are vegetarians, and we were looking for a Chinese restaurant with vegetarian options. We stumbled upon this restaurant and what a find it was! All of the vegetarian selections were delicious. In particular, veg mapo-tofu and eggplant in spicy garlic sauce were excellent. Their service was efficient, and the restaurant is fully geared for the pandemic, including a temperature check system at the entrance (although it was not in us during the last week of Dec).
Food tastes like real Sichuan food. Like the food. You can order and pay via your phone, convenience.
