Their rice is made so deliciously. All the veggies and tofu are sauteed with a very flavorful seasoning too. The location is nice and the owner is very friendly and welcoming :)
Food was really good. It was super hot and was pretty fresh. The pho was really good. The meat was soft and the place had a great vibe.
Pretty nice 10 minute wait but very nice Vietnamese cuisine
Broken rice wasn't bad. I was expecting worse and came out better then I thought. It's acceptable if you are in the area but not the best on this island. Service was okay they seem limited with the mom and the pop just running everything not even sure if they had a cook or if they were doing it all. Very nice people though.
Most flavorful and fresh dish selections with excellent value! Some folks may not appreciate the passion and drive that it takes to serve such high quality at reasonable prices... you should charge more!!! Keep true to your vision and don't be swayed by 'the fake experts' that only look for another good spot to rage on... locals know how 'tourists' believe they deserve somehow special treatment, and then wonder why locals dislike them LOL
Wanting some Vietnamese food tonite, we decided to try Broken Rice on Waialae Ave. It was 7:30,and a weeknight so we were hoping it wouldn't be crowded. Luck was with us, as only one table had customers eating, so we started walking to the opposite side of the room, wanting to practice social distancing, especially since we have an infant who hasn't been vaccinated. Imagine our surprise when a worker angrily gestured us to move to the other side of the room, to the table right next to the table with customers. I explained to him that we wanted to sit away from other people ,and he rudely said no,and kept pointing to the table he wanted us in. I asked why couldn't we sit on the other side of the room, all the tables were empty, and he started waving his arms in the air, pointing to the table we didn't want, and finally said he was saving the empty side "in case some big group comes in." Another employee joined him, and tried to move us to the table we didn't want. At this point,we gave up, left, and went across the street to another restaurant.. Have never encountered such rudeness!!
Excellent Vietnamese food in Kaimuki. Go check em out when in the area.
I've been here twice now. The crab soup is amazing and worth the full price. The taste is perfect, the broth is crabby and not too salty and it just feels like home if you grew up in a family that cooks. The special broken rice with pork is also divine. The shaken beef is delicious and just as good as the other 2 dishes I mentioned. But unfortunately the portion isnt worth the $18. For $12-14 would be fine, but $18 is too high.Highly recommend. Don't get me wrong, the beef is a great choice. But if you can eat a lot, this one won't fill you.Try this place!
Tasty, fast service with courteous staff, what I observed tables n chairs are clean.
Best Vietnamese restaurant in Kaimuki!! Fresh and tasty!!
