Yes, it's cheap, fast, and very decent Thai food. More than decent. Often very very good. But sometimes not so much. Depends on who's cooking I guess. But always a nice treat and you don't feel broke after. The spring rolls are amazing and never disappoint. Be ware of the other locations though, I tried once and it was no bueno.
Cooked to order! Fresh-tasting. Authentic Thai flavors! Very friendly staff.
Great place for some great Thai cuisine.Their spicy dishes are to die for. But you can have it mild too. Clean seating area & parking in front.
This is the best place for mediocre Thai like cuisine. The meats are over marinated, the sauces are too sweet and the sticky rice was stale and crumbly. The pad thai was watery and syrupy. What saved a two star review was the cold desserts. The thai iced tea tapioca was actually quite refreshing.
Very delicious, pad se ew. Tom kha and many more dishes, all delicious
Food is still delicious and MSG free when requested, HOWEVER, their portion sizes shrank by 1/4-1/2 depending on what you order! Not only that but the curry lacked the variety of vegetables it once had and was mostly full of potatoes (which are cheap) taking up most of the space of the smaller containers...I understand this might be due to the disruption in the supply chain thanks to this "pandemic" but that is no excuse to rip off your customers. Has your consumer base shrunk that much that you need to cut portion sizes and increase filler ingredients?!Once the supply chains resume to their full capacity I expect Bankok Chef to increase their portion sizes accordingly to that which they had previous of the pandemic, especially since the value of the dollar is greater now than it was in the years following the recovery of the housing-bubble (2010-2015). Inflation is not the reason for this change...I would like to be a returning customer but I cannot afford to eat out if the portion sizes are shrinking and all I get are potatoes... you will lose business in the longer run this way. I hope to see your portion sizes return to your standard!
In Manoa Valley, on East Manoa Road, just past the marketplace, you will find Bangkok Chef. It is one of several restaurants by the same owner in Honolulu. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and they offer sit down and take out dishes. What's important to me is their on-line presence - the menu is so easy to find and read. One of my favorites dishes, which I have not found it at other Thai restaurants, is their Mango Salad. It's one of the reasons I keep returning. Their Pad Thai, Crispy Noodles, curries are tasty and sizable portions and while I always try other dishes, which are all good, I always seem to come back to ordering these. You can order the dish or ask for it ala carte - one comes with rice and the other without rice. If I have rice at home, ala carte means more tasty food.
Good food, reasonable prices.
Convenient for Manoa residents.
Great pad Thai and spring rolls right here and Manoa!
