Not sure if we got lucky or they fumigated the place but there were no roaches when I stayed here in May 2022. As others have said, the room is a bit dated/shabby but the location can’t be beat. Right in the heart of Waikiki. Pool/jacuzzi is nice, you have to pay extra to “register” to use the fitness center. Beach towels/chairs can be borrowed at the front desk.
Location was not bad, walking distance from most major things in Waikiki. I’m definitely one of those that always say “I’m not too picky about where I stay because I’ll just come here to sleep” but this was not a great place at all. After the first night we found 2 roaches, the residents and staff are actually very rude and I get the vibe that they don’t like tourists, the hotel staff at the check in counters are very snarky, and it’s just overall not clean. Our hallway smelled like garbage. If you want your Hawaiian vacation to be enjoyable all around, I definitely do not recommend this hotel. You’re on vacation, I would recommend spending that extra for somewhere at least more decent.
Good location, great front desk staff, and great views from the balcony. The parking is a little pricy and a little wonky with the payment, but is nice to have so close. The beach chairs and towels were nice. The chairs are not very comfortable though. The pictures are very misleading though. The building is very outdated and and the room is kind of shabby. The tops to the coffee table and entertainment center wasn't fully attached. The mattress and linens were very cheap. The carpet did not seem very clean, particularly with the limited housekeeping. The caulking in the bathroom was poorly done, the lining of the shower was peeling, and the plumbing was cheap and exposed. You just didn't feel clean in your own space which isn't what you want on vacation.I would say it is a nice 2 star hotel, but by no means meets 3 star cleanliness or quality. The best part of this hotel is the convenient location and friendly front desk.
The pictures lie! Do not stay here! This place needs to be torn down.1st we were trying to check in, I went to get the luggage cart (there was only one for the 700+ rooms) the security guard said I could take it but would need to leave an ID, didn’t have my ID my wife was using it to check in. So I couldn’t use the cart.2nd they don’t have the elevators labeled. There is 1 elevator for the parking garage and then 4 elevators for the rest of the hotel. You can’t access the hotel from the parking garage unless you go down to the lobby from the parking garage and then go up the hotel elevators.3rd we finally get up to our Room and are sorely disappointed the fridge is a super mini fridge not room for much at all. Half the outlets in the room didn’t work. There is glass or plastic window in the wall between the bedroom and the bathroom, so no privacy at all. The locks on the door to the room don’t work except for the chain lock. The bathroom door is supposed to slide shut, it doesn’t even move. It’s stuck open, So no privacy at all. There were cockroaches everywhere!During our stay we had to clean our room ourselves. They didn’t have any cleaning staff except on Saturdays. Our stay was from a Tuesday through the next Wednesday so our room only was cleaned once, the rest of the time we had to clean it.On our last day there only one elevator for the hotel was working and one elevator for the parking garage was working. We were trying to check out, it took us 45 minutes to an hour just to get an elevator to get down to the lobby. The restaurant in the lobby was the only good thing in that hotel. They had delicious food.
This hotel was not the cleanest and on top of that due to Covid they don't clean your room during your stay. Most of the power outlets in the room did not work, I had to pull the bed out to get to one of the only outlets that worked. The shower head was really low and I had to crouch down to actually get under it. There is a window into the shower that is fogged, but you can still totally see through it enough to see someone in the shower. The air conditioner was really loud and would scare you awake every time it turned on. There are separate elevators for the hotel and the parking garage which would be fine if it didn't take 20 minutes to get onto the elevator because they are always full. On our last day only one elevator was working so it took us 45 minutes to be able to get one person on to hijack the elevator long enough to get our family down to the lobby to check out. The only positive about this hotel is the pool area is very nice. That's the only reason it's not getting one star.
Customer service is awesome staff friendly , however the hotel is infested with roaches! Don’t be fooled by the photos the room does not look like that at all! Soon as you step in your room roaches greet you! I immediately went back down and asked for a refund I wasn’t about to stay 6 days with roaches and these aren’t small roaches I end up at the Hyatt a block away which was awesome!!! You can literally see the roaches walking like their at the mall shopping it was a no for me they kept some of my money even though I didn’t stay the night idc I was out!!! the front desk acted surprised which I know they knew
The firstroom We were assigned to was dirty. There were finger prints on microwave and on the hot plate. I wiped the counter with alcohol wipes that the hotel provided and there was some kind of debris after wiping. Before I could even get myself seIf settled, I came across 2 small roaches running across the wall in the bathroom and main room above the bed.I was unaware that this hotel does not have pest control at the time due to covid. If i knew this, i would have found somewhere else to stay… Front desk did not notify me of this. I found out by waiting for the elevator. As I was waiting for my elevator, I started reading a 12 font note that was posted above the elevator button.. It said that they are no longer having pest control due to covid. the note was posted Jan 11th 2022 (i believe…I forgot to take a picture).I went back to front desk and didn’t make a fuss. It was late at night, I had nowhere else to stay, and I had no choice but to get a new room at the same hotel. I quietly told the man at the front desk my issue, and he was apologetic… and assigned us a new room..Our second room was almost to the top floor and had a great view, however I felt so uncomfortable staying there. Hoping it would give me a peace of mind, I decided to leave the hotel and buy my own lysol all purpose cleaner and spraying/ wiping everything down on my own. I definitely did not have a peace of mind at all… We barely spent time in the room and tried to stay out as long as possible. I feel like I wasted my money.Unfortunately If I could give this hotel zero stars, I definitely would. I do not recommend staying here and will never book a room here again.
I wish I could post pictures. Everything was pealing apart, cracked, frayed, dirty, rusty and smelly. The beds were incredibly hard. The AC unit was raining on us. The stovepipe on the "kitchenette" was cracked and the fridge was so small we couldn't keep much in it anyway. The grocery store was overpriced. The elevators were shut down so we were stuck on the 8th floor trying to get down. T hey closed the staircase too so literally we were stuck for over an hour. The pictures they show you online are not real. Do not go here. We couldn't watch movies because everything was broken too. Pay more for a better place I promise this isn't worth the saving on money. Did I mention NO HOUSEKEEPING. You are responsible for cleaning and taking out the trash and replacing trash bags. Not vacation friendly.
We Stayed for 6 nights with 4 Adults on the 11th Floor. Irregardless of other people's opinions: WE WERE Totally Amazed by what this Hotel has to Offer. AND, the fact that there is 24/7 Security in the Front Lobby! We were ALL given a "Key Card" AND THAT Card gives you access NOT ONLY just to your room, but, it is required to use it to open the Lobby Doors, The Gate to and from the Pool; The Elevator, The Sauna; The Excercise/Weight Room AND Various Access Doors. We were able to rent a car (Literally, same building; Other side of the Lobby) The Pool, Jacuzzi, Laundry, Ice Machine AND a VERY Convenient Store ALL on the 6th Floor. The Day we were to leave; The Hotel Lobby Service Pleasantly told us that we would be able to "Store" ALL of our Luggage with them for the day, until we HAD to leave for the Airport. What a joy that was to hear. Our room was Beautiful and we had a Wonderful View of the Pool and Jacuzzi! What a Wonderful Place to Stay! Thank You for making our Time in Honolulu SO MEMORABLE!!
Check in was easy. Check out was easier. We felt like it was a great budget hotel. Not fancy, not run down. On site parking was great for the rental. Gym has no free weights so you have to get creative but well kept up. Sauna is awesome but usually crowded. All the dudes at the front desk were awesome. They definitely earned their paychecks!
