The value of the food offered is exceptional on a continuous basis. When the aunties are working at the register, the service is almost always of a very high quality. My immediate family and I have been going here for a considerable amount of time now.
Ahi katsu burnt/overcooked. I'm almost certain this Shrimp tempura is from the store. This makes me mad hence the review. I bought frozen shrimp a couple of years ago but forget what brand it was. It doesnt have that authentic japanese taste. The batter is so uniform too like it wasnt handmade. The mandoo was pretty good though.
I used to come here every week but over the past year it has severely dropped in quality and quantity. The portions are much smaller and the price is high. Even the vegetables now taste a bit off. You're better off buying fresh vegetables and poke elsewhere and eating it at home.
In a bubble, this a decent fish spot. When compared to their Ala Moana location, however, the Dillingham location fares much worse. I'm not sure if it's the seasoning or the freshness, but all of the raw fish I've eaten here don't taste as good compared to the times that I order the same thing at the Ala Moana location, especially the standard ahi poke. I've started only ordering the cooked items when I go to this location, and at least I haven't been disappointed by those.
Wow, this is now my go to spot. Staff is friendly, food is yummy and fresh, and you can’t beat the value. The only con is parking. My favorite is the sashimi (generous pieces) and the chicken wings/tempura bento.
Had a great Hawaiian experience here and enjoyed some very fresh Ahi poke. The lady serving us was very friendly and even gave us some Kala to try for the first time . Coming all the way from Canada she made us feel at home . We were tired from Pearl harbour and this place hit the spot .
Ahi & Vegetable is our favorite local spot for the very best fresh caught Ahi, and local fish. These photos are from they're original location on Dillingham Blvd., and i recommend going to the original first of you are a visitor to Hawaii. The owner runs the fish auction, so the fish is the highest quality, without paying boutique hotel prices, like uber rich people would. Everything on the menu is great, so you can't lose. Whenever friends or family come visit us, this is where i take them first stop. This is where the local people go for fresh cut ahi like you want it.
Supported this local business for the longest time but seems like the service is getting worse as well as the food. There’s a big write up on the yelp page on how the owner locator and customize anything for their customers. Made a simple request for my food to be put in a bowl not a plate. The lady said that’s not possible anymore, and the kitchen staff don’t know how to do it. She was very rude and condescending. And they refused to put my order in a bowl, it seems like they’re under Paid kitchen staff are running the show really don’t care much about customer service. I believe the owner should remove their claim that they can customize any dish to keep the customer happy
I ate there a few months ago. Fresh ahi and salmon. I hope they can keep it beucise the news said fish price going up.
