This is the most legit pho, ever! We discovered this place on our last day on the Big Island. If we would’ve have found this restaurant earlier in our stay, trust me when I say my husband would’ve been here every day. One of the other reviewers stated the pho is better than probably more than 90% of those on the mainland. We’re from Cali with pho restaurants galore and I have to wholeheartedly agree with that statement! Maybe even kick it up a notch and say >95%! LoL, for real, the hubby wanted to take the broth in a cup to go!The food has authentic herbs and ingredients. The broth tasty and clear with a just a hint of fat droplets floating at the top. You know the broth is good when you don’t have to add much to make the broth good — it’s good solo even without the Siracha and hoisin sauce — talk about trying to look for that fish sauce. Portions are sizable for one person. You walk out of the restaurant feeling so full after trying to slurp down all of your pho broth. We ordered the Pho Dac Biet (with all the trimmings), the seafood pho and shrimp papaya salad to share. The menu is limited but the food tastes like it came straight out of my mother in law’s kitchen. Four words: it is hella grubbin’!!! The restaurant is owned by this cute older Vietnamese couple who does everything themselves. Bring your patience and your stomach. It’s restaurants like this that made me wish I had more stomachs to fill up. ?
Authentic Vietnamese pho and eggrolls, amazing Korean fried chicken, and friendly staff.
Delicious pho - we had the beef stew and the chicken pho, both were excellent. Prepared and presented with care, good portion size. Will certainly come back!
Food is really great, they have a small place that has 4 tables that can seat 4. The pho's broth is so good, shrimp summer rolls are made fresh, and they gave us plenty of peanut sauce with it. The gentleman in the counter is nice, and accomodating and gave us Great service!
This was one of the most amazing meals I’ve had in my life. The beef pho was incredible. Absolutely delicious and easy to get to, sit down dining with lots of tables. Eat here!!
It was so delicious! Though I never visited Vietnam the food felt so authentic. The dishes were prepared with fresh produce and great love. I would definitely visit again.
AMAZING FOOD! don’t judge a book by its cover or a restaurant by its look ? we tried the combo pho and banh mi they both tasted awesome. Super great quality of the food, you will be surprised! I added a side of the peanut sauce for my sandwich and made it even tastier!
We were looking for a quick place to grab dinner before a long drive and decided on this place as a safe bet. The beef combination pho was delicious and the broth legit. As a bonus, the proprietor was phenomenal with the kids, bringing them balloons, candy, folded origami and airplanes and helping us to encourage them to eat more.
Delicious local Vietnamese mom and pop shop in Hilo! My family and I were visiting Hilo, HI from California for the first time and went here for lunch. My sister saw they had great reviews on Yelp & Google so we decided to give this place a try. It was a great choice! It's a family run business. The elder-looking gentleman working there took our order, brought out our water, food, and, I believe he cooked/made our dishes, too. That day we were there, two other staff members were also working in the back.As a vegetarian, I was super happy they had many options available. Here is what we all ended up ordering!- (I ordered) #13 Vegetarian Spring Roll Noodle- My sister ordered Beef summer roll- My dad - banh mi sandwich- My mom - Shrimp papaya saladEverything was so delicious! Please note - don't expect things to come out quickly as this restaurant definitely appears family-owned. The next time I am in Hilo again, I will definitely be coming back!
I love the eclectic taste of fresh green papaya with the pho toppings salad. Delicious vegetarian options are available, and the price is reasonable for this significant portion. I will come back here again for my next trip to Hilo.Papaya salad with Shrimp $11.95
