The place doesn’t look anything like the photos on their web site. The place is pretty scruffy and not especially clean. The staff were rude and did not appear to be enjoying their time there and the food was marginally edible.
Their menu is so small, and everything on the menu is so expensive now ☹️ I like their bentos, but most of the time they are sold out by when I get there. I hope they start making more bentos or make a better lunch time menu
Went there to try their saimin and ordered original and hilo saimin with special ( chicken and cook vegetables).Got back to our resort and only to find out that only 1 had cook vegetables and the other has nothing.The WORST is that both saimin is VERY VERY SALTY..seems like they put spoonful if salt in both saimin…I have to throw away both cause i do not want my blood pressure to go crazy.Review sometimes can be misleading.Not coming back and wasted $23 and 2 hours drive from waikoloa to hilo.
Aloha,Got my new supply of salt just in time. Nori’s salt is the best! Also, this time I got lemon peel Li Hing gummy’s. Holy cow!!! They are the bomb! Little pieces of lemon peel throughout. Mahalo
This place is a classic local style restaurant. There's a reason why it seems like they've been here forever. GOOD FOOD.Oh, and a nice fish tank!If it ain't broke,Don't fix it. If your hungry,garantee Nora's get'm.
Good food. Good service, if you hungry for local home style food? This is the place to go.

Best Saimin I've ever had
We wanted to like this place. There’s no denying that it’s popular. But in the end we’re not sure why.The portions are generous. That’s probably the main reason people come here.I had the teri loco moco. My eggs were super underdone. The teri sauce was thin and too sugary. The mac salad was all mayonnaise.We also had the saimin. It was bland. We expected it to have luncheon meat, but lunch meat, noodles, and a flavorless broth are all you get.And, it took 45 minutes from the time we ordered until our food was brought out.
