This place is the best place to eat in Hilo. I'm a picky eater, very picky. I love Japanese foods. This place has foods that remind me of older Hawaii. Like grandma's cooking. Simple yet tasty. You cannot order just one item! Lines can get long, and if you go too late foods can run out!The customer service here is one of a kind. These days it's so rare to find customer service like what this place offers. Really, like old Hawaii customer service. You know. Before all the big corps and foreigners. This business has my lifetime support! (as long as they don't sell ;))Kawamoto, please never change!!! I miss business styles like this!
The reviews don't lie. This place is incredible. Priced phenomenally, this is a great spot to get Japanese favorites that are done perfectly. Loved the noodles, Ono, tempura green beans/shrimp/sweet potato. Korean chicken was also very good.
Highly recommend! Pick what you want from glass window. Quick service, lots of variety, tastes so fresh! There was a line but it moves quickly. Arrive early to beat the crowd & before the best goods sell out!
Best inari sushi so far. Fantastic choices for food. Great tasting food . Will be back many, many times.

An institution. Efficient, fast, hardworking folks.Come early for tempura, nori chicken, and bentos. When they're sold out, they pau.Never had a bad meal from here.
This has some of the best food in town. The nori chicken is amazing but always sold out. Gotta get there early if you want any. Everyone behind the counter is super friendly and always smiling. I would recommend this spot for breakfast/lunch any day!
Went here for brunch and they were SO nice. I explained I had not been there before and one of the women was kind and explained how it worked. The spam sushi was delicious!! Going back tomorrow morning!
Been going there for over 20 years, I love the tempura Ono, Teri beef and tempura shrimp. Good food, great people
Tempura everything was good. Maki is good. Chicken nori was underwhelming. Keep in mind pretty much everything is room temp.
