We had a great time here but the food was sliced a bit too much for my son. He is 7. My wife and I loved everything, including the burger my son didn't care for. The burger was seasoned with lots of herbs which we liked but just a bit too much for my son. The volcano mist salad is too die for... Can't wait to go back and have that again
My brother, nephew, and I went to lunch at Pesto and enjoyed a casual lunch and fantastic service. I had a personal pizza reasonably priced and tasty. But of course the place's location is important to me in the old section of Hilo next to the market area and other period buildings from the Big Island's past. It's a bistro atmosphere with comfort-food ready to eat. A comfy spot for conversation and a longer lunch right on Hilo Bay.
Italian fusion. Cute decor. Very clean and COVID aware, spacing out tables, etc. my shrimp nacho appetizer was tastey . My husband had the shrimp scampi fetticcini… both were enjoyable and at a good price.
Thai shrimp pizza was awesome and the grilled ahi sandwich as well!
Food was excellent and service. You will be happy if you eat here. We had a great view of the water. In the center of town. Like i said service fantastic
This restaurant has great high ceilings for airflow and feels roomie even when full. The service is good and friendly. The central location is very convenient to enjoying downtown Hilo. Parking out front.The food was ok. We got the crab cake salad, Korean garlic bread, shrimp scampi and a pizza. For desert, we had the apple crumble and a latte. The dessert was the best part for sure. If we go again, we will try all new things for dinner. What we had wasn't bad, but I have a feeling there are better things on this menu.
We ordered korean style garlic bread and classico pizza, both were great! The chili flakes they give on the side went so well with the pizza sooo delicious, so cheesy. I'm not sure what's so korean about the garlic bread though.. but it was nice. My strawberry smoothie was great, my hubby's latte was bad. In our opinion it tastes worse than a nespresso coffee you make at home but it's $6.. maybe we are not used to their beans yet.There was this one server doing everything, he was a machine.. respect! 4.5!
The service was very good at this casual place. We had the fresh catch sandwich (o’no), which was good. The shrimp & crab sandwich was fine but nothing great. The Hilo Sunrise ( iced tea plus a lemongrass lemonade) was refreshing.
I was filling up at a gas station in Hilo and asked a local for a restaurant recommendation, without hesitation he said Cafe Pesto. Wow, were we ever happy for taking his advice. The place looked very busy, but we were seated quickly. The service was great, the people were so helpful and friendly, and the food was off the hook! Great flavors, perfect portions, and the best apple crisp I've ever had! I highly recommend Cafe Pesto!
We stopped here after visiting Volcano national park, The wait was long but they have a menu you cn look at while wating. They took forever to seat us even though seats were available. The wait was worth it because the food was exeptional. We al 3 had the crab cake salad. AMAZING!! Fresh and delicious. The service from the waiter was very good as well. I would highly suggest this restaurant to anyone
