I had 2 dishes here and it was hit or miss.Their silverware or shrimp soup had some kind of sticky substance in it like a glue. I didnt understand but had to wipe off. The portion was incredibly small for $15 despite 7 high quality shrimps which were good. But the soup could barely fit a small bowl the size of my hands cupped together. They gave me 7 chios to go with it. 4 of them were overcooked. Their tofu burrito and suaces were really good.
Delicious Mexican food for a fair price. We went in for a quick lunch and were surprised by the amount of vegetarian options. The menu options can easily be uniquely configured to include various types of meat or tofu as well as additional sauce. The food was speedily brought to our table and the service was friendly. Would definitely eat here again!
WOW! A wonderful place for authentic Mexican food! We sampled a little of everything and it was all great! Healthy meals at a great price! For those wanting to eat healthier these meals are not fried! Everyone was very pleasant and professional. The inside is very clean. Located in downtown Hilo and a hub of variety of restaurants from all over the world. Parking is on the opposite side of the main street entrance. If you are in the Hilo area stop by Amigo's Taqueria!Note: The name Taqueria is a Mexican restaurant that specializes in Tacos and Burritos! 5 out of 5 stars! !
We ordered chicken fijita tacos and quesadillas. Received beef, not chicken. Everything was dripping in grease. I don't think I have ever eaten such terrible meal... anywhere!
Got tacos from here the other nigh, 3/10/22, before heading back to Kona. Got carne, pollo, and carnitas. Everyone in the car said the tacos were great. I ate mine 1.5 hours later and they were great. Price was good and order came out in a timely manner. Great job.
I was pleasantly surprised with the tacos! Took a little long to make, but it was well worth the wait!
I tried to order taquitos or a chimichanga but was told they don’t offer either as they don’t fry anything. However, my mother was able to get her tostada shell fried. Asked for a sope and they were out. I asked if I could get a bean burrito with lettuce, tomato and sour cream and was told no because it’s not on the menu. It’s restaurant policy that no changes can be made to menu items. Settled for the bean burrito that was very bland and served with a hair. I showed the employee and asked for a refund and he told me they don’t offer refunds. My dad also received an incorrect order. I was surprised at how many things could go wrong in such a short amount of time. What kind of restaurant can’t accommodate special orders? The no refunds thing is just baffling. I’ve never seen that in a restaurant. It tells me they’re not confident in their food. Only gave a second star because my parents orders were mediocre. The way the employee said no changes to menu items and no refunds makes me think this place has bad ownership. Those policies are set at the top.
Picked up carne asada nachos to observe National Nacho Day on Sat. Nov 6. It was so delicious and tasty. I enjoyed it down at the beach in between ocean swims. The perfect lunch for a perfect day!
I requested for some limes and they say they didn't have. I saw them in the kitchen. The food is good. Service not recommended
My wife and I decided to visit this hole in the wall restaurant because sometimes this is where you can find the best food, not this time. The restaurant was filthy, they didn't even bother to wipe off out table, the waitress/cook was rude. My enchiladas were dry and tasted like cardboard. The beef was tasteless and a lot of fat. My wife's stuffed burrito was stuffed with a lot of old rice and hardly any pulled pork which was tough, fatty, and devoid of taste. The rice was mushy and old, beans were okay. We ate a few bites and then told the waitress our thoughts and asked for a refund. No refund, no apology. Bad service, bad food, dirty space. DO NOT EAT HERE! I hardly ever write reviews on websites, it has to be fantastically good or extremely bad for me to do this.
