It was the best meal I had in Hawaii. I miss their chicken a lot. The pineapple coleslaw was delish as well. If you’re visiting Oahu, you must must eat at Ray’s!
They had some smoked meat as well as a whole chicken we had bought. We had gotten some of "grandma's special sauce". Chicken was not dry and it was very flavorful. Will buy again!!!

Best huli huli chicken on the island. The chicken literally comes of the spit to hand to the customers. It doesn't get any fresher than that, and it's absolutely delicious. Crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Seasoned very well.
We were driving all the way around the island, and there was a loooong stretch with nothing to eat -- except a nice stand with fresh cold coconuts -- but still! We almost missed this but we smelled the chicken while riding in the convertible. The chicken is being broiled outside in the parking lot. You go in to order (the people working there are so nice!) and then you can eat outside at the picnic tables. There are plenty of good sides you can order, too.
This chicken was delicious. I haven’t cleaned chicken bones like I did, ever! The set up they cooked it on was fun to watch.
okay I came to Hawaii and a local brought me here and it blew my mind. the chicken was sweet and salty. It was moist and perfectly cooked. I've been eating road side charcoal chicken my whole life and this by far takes the cake.
