I gave this restaurant a rating of 3 stars but in reality it should have been less. We arrived for our reservation to a less than a half of a full house. I thought to myself, knowing the labor shortages and a half full restaurant the service should be good. Not at all! We were greeted by one of the owners who through the night had an attitude like she didn’t even want to be there. The food was marginal and it took over an hour and a half to get served. The staff was generally unfriendly for a service business in a tough economy. I had a short conversation with the other owner and expressed my concerns. I wanted to make sure he knew my my concerns and he did apologize but the damage was already done.I would not recommend this restaurant!

Had terrible experience. Showed up at 430 and first table at restaurant took 2 hours to get food, ordered fish special (red fish) with double vegetables. There were about 4 tiny pieces of veggies I mean Small and fish was a terrible cut hardly any white meat. When we said something they took it back, never apologized, never offered to replace, had to ask to take it off bill as we were not eating what was served. So all in I would highly not recommend eating here if your looking for good service, good food and a reasonable timely offering. I never write reviews however felt compelled to do so to warn others. With soo many options of great restaurants in the area I will never go here again!

I have visited this restaurant many times over the years and I’m disappointed at how the quality and service has depreciated over time. I had a friend join me for her first time at the restaurant and had I know how it would be we would have gone elsewhere. We ordered appetizers and a bottle of wine and shortly thereafter placed an order for salads and entrees. We received the salads but about 30 minutes after we had another server ask if we needed a to go box to which we replied we were waiting on entrees. We unfortunately never received those entrees and never saw our server again. I know this restaurant can do better and I know it’s a crazy time for everyone but with three tables occupied on a Thursday night I would think you could do better.

We’ve been coming to Vingenzos since the beginning and my son was small. Well he’s 23 now so we are seasoned patrons of this wonderful Italian restaurant in Woodstock. The food is impeccable and always on point. Chef Michael always takes the time to stop by our table for a visit, which we thoroughly enjoy! The staff is doing all they can to take care of everyone and doing a great job at it, especially with the staffing shortages going on presently. We certainly don’t mind having leisurely dinner here because it always has been and is a wonderful experience! We will always be back again and again, as it is the best Italian restaurant that we have found. And Chef Michael and his staff are the best!

I really hate to leave a negative review for a small business, but we came to celebrate our friends' birthdays and unfortunately did not have a good experience. We had a reservation for 14, but were not told until we arrived at the restaurant that they could not seat us all together. The reasoning was "fire code", but as we finished up our meal a table of 16 was sat nearby. If they'd planned a little better, they could have seated our party at one of several other locations that would have accommodated our size. The friends whose birthdays we were celebrating had their baby with them and put the high chair next to them at the end of the table. After ordering they took their son out of it for a few minutes to feed him and in that time our server walked by and removed the high chair with no comment (presumably another fire code issue). One of our friends asked for an appetizer suggestion, to which our server noted the tasting plate. This turned out to be a plate of small cheese, tomatoes, jam and nut helpings and nothing to pair them with. When we asked about bread or crackers, the server decided this was the moment to let us know that this would cost extra. Then there was a miscommunication about when to bring the cake out, and instead of politely explaining why it was coming out before half of our group got their entrees, our server got an attitude and proceeded to leave the cake before we could ask him to keep it in the fridge a little longer. The food was just okay, which was disappointing given the prices. To add to this, as our entrees came out they were all given to the wrong people and we had to pass things around to get them right. The server didn't even seem to care as he watched this happen. All in all, the drinks were good, the food was okay, and the service was... rough. With all of the other quality options in downtown Woodstock, I don't think we will be coming back.

Service was marginal. Waiter didn't know how to pronounce the wine we chose for dinner. Antipasto plate was missing items including olives. Had to point that out to the waiter. No bread sticks or crackers with platter. Had to purchase bread separately. Person refilling water glasses was spilling water everywhere. Food did not have much flavor. Had to find waiter to get salt and parmesan.Perhaps it was just a bad night but will think twice before going back.

Best restaurant ever!!! My boyfriend and I just went there for dinner and our food was amazing!!! The service is outstanding!!! The workers are amazing and so nice and generous!! This is the first time visiting and we both said we will definitely be coming back to the restaurant!! The gelato was so delicious I had the caramel gelato and my boyfriend had the chocolate and vanilla ice cream with the chocolate shavings!!! Thank you so much for the wonderful Service!!!

I’ve passed by this hidden gem multiple times and goodness, was I missing out! The menu is made-from-scratch (chef’s kiss), the atmosphere is divine, the service (John) is top-notch, and the fellowship with friends made it a Sunday lunch to remember! There will be many return trips! Buon appetito!

The food tastes authentic and is just plain better when the customer experience is as great as they make it!

Chef/owner runs the restaurant like an oligarch… the staff are cold, as by direction it would seem, and are vastly timid around him. Chef is personally disappointed when the uncultured Americans ask for Parmesan or red pepper flakes as typified by his personal, yet aggressive, delivery. Pasta is dry but admittedly cooked very well.I can appreciate a zero tolerance policy on authenticity, but Italy is a vast region, and not all would nod a dry bolognese with al dente pasta. We’re locals and I felt unwelcome because I made the wrong decisions. There are so much better authentic Italian restaurants, such as No. 246, St. Cecelia, and Osteria Mattone. Don’t feel obligated to condone subpar.
