I want to give a shout out to JD's, they are a restaurant that takes care of its customers. This evening we ordered dinner for pickup and when my son arrived home, half of it was missing. I attempted to call the restaurant to let them know that he would be on his way back up for the rest and ended up being on hold for over 20 minutes. While all of that sounds terrible, and I admit to it being extremely frustrating, the manager I spoke with was very helpful. She replaced our entire order and even threw in a banana pudding. I appreciate her accommodation and her willingness to fix a mistake. JD's continues to remain our favorite barbecue restaurant because they've shown they not only have good food but when they make a mistake they're willing to stand behind it and make it right.
Pretty good bbq, except for the fat chunks. I had the spud with brisket.The servers and staff were very friendly.First time there and we’ll be back…maybe, except for the fact that they passed the credit card processing fees to the customer. Kind tacky. On top of tip, you need to add 3.5% to your bill.
Classic BBQ place with plenty of smoked meat options. The smoker was going in the front if the restaurant giving off a wonderful and fragrant smoked meat aroma throughout the outside and inside of the restaurant. They had some drink specials listed for Thursday! I had gotten the brisket & half rack of ribs meal with 2 sides and hush puppies. Ribs did not fall off the bone, a little on the drier side but still plenty of flavor. The dry rub is very strong in flavor so I advise you to try it before adding sauce! They had a Spicy and Sweet sauce available if desired!Overall a solid BBQ place with good flavor and plenty to chose from!
Spacious and modern interior with attentive staff. It's always nice to see smoke and smell bbq before even entering the front door. I get suspicious, otherwise. The brisket was tender and seasoned well and there was a thin smoke ring visible beneath the crust. I had a good portion of brisket for the price and the collards and Brunswick stew were also tasty. I would come back, if I'm ever in the neighborhood again.
Clean and respectable establishment. Service friendly and efficient. Unpretentious menu reflects confidence in product.I had the Altheas fried chicken sandwich with macaroni and cheese. Large portions, very tasty. Chicken was a wee salty but that’s just me. Excellent house sauces. Family members had pork and brisket dishes and were all happy.We’ll be back.
Awesome dining experience! Real wood smoked meats. Great fried okra and mac n cheese. Garlic buttery texan toast. Brisket was the best brisket I have tasted! The sausage was handmade & so delicious!!! ( I dont like sausage), but I will order their sausage. Casual and friendly environment. The salad with smoked chicken on top was amazing.
I had ribs and chpped pork.FANTASTIC!!!Got the ribs with out sauce to enjoy the real flavors. The rub taste really is good. The meals were fantastic and our server Caroline was excellent. We always enjoy going there.Always get a side of sauce warm brings out the chopped pork flavor even better.Great place to enjoy excellent BBQ.
Love the food - but if you order a to-go order be sure you check it before you leave. The last 2 times we have had items missing and had to go back. ? it’s definitely an inconvenience and the employees don’t really seem concerned.
Nowhere as good as the original location. Picked up a takeout order. Pork was dry, and there was barely any sauce. There were a ton of flies in the window by takeout counter. Health score was an 83. $14 for a small sandwich, slaw and a drink? There are much better places in the area with more reasonable prices.
Food was good. Service was good. Restaurant policy is terrible. On the back of the menu there is fine print that says anyone paying with a Credit card/Debit car will be charged a fee of 3%. Why not include the 3% processing fee into the price of the food so I don't like I'm paying the businesses operating cost.Unfortunately I will not be returning because their policy is hidden and that is shady.
