Amy T. and Chef Z. made us feel even better than at home. We sat at the bar with Amy, who was inviting, real, and a delight to speak with. Chef Zo presented us with dishes that were not only beautiful in presentation, but masterful in crafted taste. The menu can best be described as an assortment of classic southern comfort dishes complimented by unique blends of unexpected flavors, setting this place apart from other comparable food joints. It's a real feel-at-home spot, as opposed to an upscale fine-dining venue. As a first-timer I came in with no expectations and was surprised that I was still mind-blown after our meal, so much so that I took the time to leave this review for the next person to hopefully find.1st Impression: 9/10 (unique inside and out)Menu Impression: 9/10 (intimidating flavors/plate combinations)Drinks: 9/10 (Water-clean / Irish Coffee-smooth)Appetizers: 10/10 (chicken bites-perfectly glazed / seared brussels-such a unique flavor)Plate Presentation: 11/10 (The food here even looks better than fine dining, even down to the plating details, such as the dusted paprika and parsley. It just looks more appetizing.)Dining Flavor: 11/10 (Twas unexpected how well each menu dish had been prepared. Not one ingredient was overbearing or out of place.)Overall Appeal: 10/10 would recommend to family, friends, and people walking on the street. Really anyone/everyone is welcomed here.
The customer service was great and a very cool restaurant. I like the vibe, I think it would be great for watching the game as well. My husband loved his salmon but the pork meal I had was too salty for me. The manager and server understood and accommodated me which I appreciate. They really did everything to make sure I was satisfied without me asking. I would go back and try something different. The drinks were good. We had a side of the gouda mac n cheese, OMG that was delicious (highly recommend). Cool spot, outdoor seating on a cooler day
Such a great location and even better Brussel sprouts. They tasted like a desert with maple syrup and goat cheese sprinkles. The chicken and Waffles had great fluffy batter and were seasoned perfectly.
Service and food absolutely amazing from appetizers to entrees. Fried Avocado and Ravioli was phenomenal (portobello mushrooms and goat cheese) don’t get me started on the Zoodles and Shrimp! Chef Chris and Chase thank you for the great experience. I would definitely recommend everyone to visit and enjoy the food and drinks.
The real star of this Freight Kitchen & Tap was their patio. It was a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. The food was ok. The staff was friendly and good.
Great service and a comfort food menu. If you time it right there is a GNRR train coming by to rattle your plates. Love the fried Mac and Pimento Cheese.
This place has a very nice ambiance to it, cute little dinner spot. I ordered the dip trip and the chicken and waffles. The spinach and artichoke dip and the pimento cheese were excellent dips, but the buffalo chicken left a little to be desired. it seemed like it was more pulled buffalo chicken then a dip. The chicken and waffles was good, but still not spectacular. The waffles and syrup were excellent, the only issue was the seasoning of the chicken. there was not enough of a savory flavor to it to balance out the sweetness of the waffle. Overall though it was still a very good meal and would definitely go back again. The staff was excellent and friendly, the restaurant itself was amazing and it was a great time!
I took the family for brunch on Sunday. The staff was friendly and attentive. I had the chicken and waffles, with the Brussels as a side. I enjoyed the food very much. Great portions too, will be back
Came in for brunch on a Saturday. It was busy with a wait, so plan ahead. Service was good despite the rush although he did get a little behind bringing our food resulting in it being cold. I ordered the Southern heritage bowl with grits. Grits were creamy and flavorful, but my biscuit was as hard as a hockey puck. Literally couldn't bite into it and it's texture was closer to a roll than biscuit. Portions were good for the price.
Amazing brunch spot. I took my friends here when they came into town and now they always want to go back every time they visit. The deviled eggs are delicious and the beet salad is outstanding. If you're up for a bigger plate, try their biscuits and gravy.
