I'm basing my review on my past 4 orders. The first three were through Waitr, this last one was through their website for pick-up.They have NEVER been able to get the order right. Whenever I order dry rub ribs, they arrive sauced. I can request 2-4 different types of bbq sauce (everyone in my house has different tastes) and they never include what's requested.This last time I ordered my ribs dry rubbed and requested original, smokey, and sweet bbq sauce. I received ribs with sauce on them and the only bbq sauce that was sent was sweet. 12 packets of sweet bbq sauce to be exact.If you're looking to order take out or delivery, I would highly recommend using a different restaurant, or be ready to go through every item you receive before leaving the parking lot.
We eat at this Sonny’s occasionally and it’s always good, but Monday June 20th was possibly the best tasting food there, yet!I got the Sampler plate, and the ribs were the best I’ve had in years! My husband got the smoked Turkey breast, which is his favorite.The service was good, I believe our server’s name was Elliot?? He did a great job.Our only issue with Sonny’s, is that I believe they use seasonings with MSG.That sounds picky, and may not be an issue for many, but a few hours after we got home, my husband came in and said “I remember why we don’t go there often, I can feel the MSG!” Then it hit me a little after him. He gets a pins and needles feeling all over and heart fluttering, but for me my joints swell, and have to remove my ring. MSG is a widely used flavor enhancer, and is in many canned soups and processed foods. Many ‘seasoning’ bottles also contain it. It’s not even legal I believe in much of Europe, and I wish it was done away with here also!That being said, I’m sure it’s typical in dry rubs and sauces so I’m not knocking Sonny’s for it, but perhaps they could look into changing seasoning brands?For most, ignorance is bliss! Rock on, Sonny’s! ???
I normally don’t go out of my way to make negative reviews but I found this one necessary. I’ve been dying to find a decent barbecue spot in the area after moving from Texas. Granted, I obviously have high expectations of barbecue at that rate…but my experience here was so garbage I don’t even know what to call it. I ordered curbside pickup at 3:45 pm for a pickup time of 6pm. Upon arriving I called the number on the pickup sign and was greeted by someone who didn’t sound too excited to be grabbing the phone. I was told it would be out whenever it was ready. Um, ok. So I wait for 40 minutes before finally receiving my food. Had a waitress from inside come out on two separate occasions to to ask if I was there to pickup. Once I received the food, the lady who brought it out was sweet and apologized for the wait. I should have known to check the bag before driving away. No sauce was provided for the platter I ordered. Ordered a sample tray excited to try a little of everything. The food was dry and cold and would have had a somewhat decent flavor If the sauce was provided. The beans tasted sour, and the Mac and cheese was room temp and also not very good. My sons chicken tenders were so hard that he could barely bite through them. Also, the drinks provided were 80% ice. Needless to say, I don’t think I’ll return here or seek a redemption meal….I’d rather search for somewhere else. Never again. Only giving two stars because I know this a chain and chains can’t really do much to change flavor quality of food so I’ll go easy on them in that aspect but everything else? Disappointing. And expensive.
I grew up going to Sonny’s when I lived in Florida, and was so disappointed when no place compared in GA. I live in Augusta, but we took a trip here and I have to say everyone is so nice and so friendly. The manager was super nice and friendly and helpful. The server was super nice and friendly. Just all around great place! I’m so happy to have a Sonny’s within a couple hours of where I live. Keep up the great work!
I tried all the meats and the pulled pork was my favorite. The tots was also a great app. A nice clean place would definitely return.
Today was the first time I've been to Sonny's in over 3 years. And it was excellent. The food was fast, hot and delicious. Best food I've had in Warner Robins in a while. Our server, Emma, was wonderful, and the manager was walking around checking on people. I dreaded going, but thankful we did. It was a great experience.
Previous visits were better.... Our last visit (3/13) was just so-so. Right away the hostess(es) had issues. They were kinda bickering where to set us. When we got to table it was dirty (dishes stacked from previous diners). Waitress was quick to say she was busy as well.... They still set us there after wiping table down. We offered/wanted to sit elsewhere at this point. Drinks were brought. Appetizers were brought about 20 minutes later. We did not complain. It was obvious they were busy... However 45 minutes later when we received food it was partially hot and cold. (Sandwich cold, fries hot).... It was just disappointing overall... Anyone can see from my previous reviews, I LOVE to give good reviews... Hopefully next time will be better! (Yes, we would return).
This experience started as a 1 star, and only for young lady being nice. The next 2 Stars were due to past positive experiences. The final star was for the manager's recovery at the end.We ordered Curbside online. Was supposed to be ready at 6:08pm. I didn't receive the food until 6:43pm, after calling FIVE times & being told it was ready, then 15 mins later, being put on hold, and then on hold, again. Then, when we finally got the food, the 2 cobb salads were both missing the meat that we paid extra to have added, there was no dressing for either, our child meal did not have its drink, we received zero barbecue sauce for the ribs. The young lady answering the phone was very nice, but seemed overwhelmed. But... my husband called & spoke with mgmt. The Mgr was nice, apologetic, and offered us a future credit. We will return, but NOT ordering Curbside, again!!
Great food and service despite being short staff .
Cobb Salad with smoked Turkey is awesome. I promise you will be full. #QTHEKINDNES. Ask for Angela as a server during the day shift. Gets you in and out in 30 for lunch which is great for us Robins AFB folks.
