I've known about Mike's for a while now from a couple of otaku friends and was finally able to stop by during a business trip. I came, honestly, for the kaiju sofubi and resin kits and the Star Trek ships that are on display (which are all super cool; I took plenty of pictures), but I stayed for the honestly delicious food. The Gorilla Burger was the best burger I can recall having in a looong time and the crinkle fries were cooked to perfection. And the chili dog was exactly how I like it. This is the type of locally owned, cozy joint I'm so glad is still around.
I've been a member of TA since 2007 and have written 100s of reviews, and have lived in WR for almost 30 years. How on Earth I managed to never write a review of Mike's is beyond me. But I'm here to correct that oversight. We all hear about the "Small Business Owner", and sometimes that means a person who opens a store and hires people to run it and staff if for them. And there is nothing wrong with that, Lord knows WR needs more of those type of Restaurants too. But Mike's is NOT that. Mike's is owned and operated by Mike. His name is on the sign, and he's in the Kitchen every day. For over 30 years this has been what Mike does and who Mike is. He is you and me, and every average Joe you know, coming to work every day through the ups and downs that life throws at a person, and he does it damn well. The food is not fancy, it's Burgers, and Dogs like the sign says. But they're all hand made and executed flawlessly. It's not "fast food"....it's literally Mike cooking for you, and quite frankly, the world needs more Mike's and less "fast" in this man's opinion. Stop in, get a burger and some of the best Onion Rings around. Say thanks to Mike on the way out too, since most days he's working the register too.
Gorilla Jr burger very good, fries were crispy, the waitress was pleasant and attentive. What more can you ask for. It was my first visit and I will be back.
I attempted to eat lunch at Mike’s today, but unfortunately, no one seemed to want to take my order. It was a little busy when I first got there, so I do understand that and I’ve taken it into consideration when typing my review.After I had been there about 15 minutes, a couple sat behind me in a booth. Their order was taken within 5 minutes and all I could do was look at the older server to see if she would acknowledge me in some way. All she did was look at me and then go back into the kitchen.Another group of 4 people were sat at a table and their order was taken and the younger server proceeded to sit down at there table to carry on a conversation with them. At point, I had been waiting for over 30 minutes without having my order taken or even offered a menu to look at.The younger server finally noticed me and sat at my booth and asked if I wanted to see a menu. I just looked at her and said “No. I think I’ll just leave.” She looked at me and responded “Oh. Okay then.” No apologies. Nothing else was said.So I left Mike’s and got lunch at another restaurant. Needless to say, I will not be going back or give them another chance in future to earn my business. Prior to typing my review, I did take the time to read the responses provided for past negative reviews. It seems as if the owner, or whoever types the responses, is very thin skinned and does not handle criticism very well. So, I am curious as to the response that I will be receiving for my review.But I am disappointed that I didn’t get a chance to try a hot dog because they did look pretty good on one of the tables that did have food on it. I wish Mike’s Hot Dogs and Hamburgers the best of luck for the future and hopefully they can learn from my review and not be too defensive in their response.
Good burger and hot dogs I also had fries and tea for lunch. It was good but it cost $22 with a tip. I guess everything is costing more now aday.

Food had good flavor and the staff were nice. Everything we got was good, no negatives on the taste.Give 4 stars mainly due to the wait and the price. The food was good, but $12 or $13 for 2 hot dogs was expensive to me. It did include fries and a drink, but still thought it was a little pricey. Would still go back.

I was recommended to come to this restaurant by a friend, they are ok. I may not return for myself but my friends said their burger was good... the turkey burger was a butter ball frozen patty and not a homemade burger... the chili cheese dog was cold and not good.... I placed my order and was told 25 min wait which was fine, I went back in 30 min my order still wasn't ready, and then they didn't fix my order correctly so I had to take it back in... the fries was good, the customer service was ok....
As is typical with the COVID endemic, labour shortages are definitely present in this place.
