Just curious if they know on the website they have a pic of a chimichanga with a roach bug on it ? Not real good for business
Used to come here a lot because the food was good and they had drink specials. Just walked in at 1:30 pm and as three servers were rolling silverware for shift change no one came and took my order. Place is not as good as it was, employees acted resentful and after I cashed out they told me the drink I ordered (it was the daily special) didn’t get a discount until 2pm. Will not be back
If I could give zero stars, I would. When my husband and I first arrived there was not a host but there was a family waiting. We waited about 15 minutes. A staff member showed up and took our names and said it would 15 more minutes. When we were finally seated a server took our drink order 10 minutes after.Another 10 minutes went by and our server never returned. We didn’t receive anything not even water. The table next to us were seated after us and already had drinks and chips/salsa.The restaurant was not busy. We left.
I've been going here since I was a teenager and now I go with a family of my own. All the staff are kind and welcoming. I love the mom and pop feel and will continue to support them and their yummy food ?
We stopped coming to this place a few years ago because of how slow their service was. Thought we'd give it a try again. It's sad because their food is good but service is so slow. Our server would disappear for long periods. I saw her sitting down on her phone along with other servers on our way out. That's troubling. Good food brings them in, but good service brings them back. Not coming back
The food and the service are good as always but I do have one major complaint about my visit 2 weeks ago. Because they had a busboy who was going around coughing and coughed all over my mom and myself and my fiance and her kid, they claimed he wasn't sick and wouldn't send him home. But two weeks later we find out we have covid, we usually are responsible people who wear masks, got vaccinated, and sanitize our hands. However this moment we had our masks off and I am willing to bet money this is the guy who got us infected.Anybody who knows anything about covid-19 knows that it takes two weeks before symptoms show. I am definitely let down by El Cotija on this one because they usually have good service but I guess good service doesn't mean they send home sick employees.
I have frequented this restaurant and it's other locations for 20 years at least. Friendly wait staff, bar tenders and hostesses. The food or drinks have NEVER disappointed me. The orders are correct, hot and fresh!! Delicious food no matter what time I eat here.
Ok, let's start off with the fabulous Margarita! It was filled to the brim and salted on ice got a small and that's all I needed on this lunch date, the stuffed jalapeño appetizer tasted great had steak and shrimp with cheese broiled on top. This restaurant is family friendly and the prices are reasonable for the taste of the food and the amount you get on the plate. The salsa had a pinch of heat and the tortilla chips were hot. The booths, tables and chairs could use some tlc & the menus had not been cleaned.

The food is GOOD!! But our server never came over to check on us or refill drinks. Which very disappointing because the food is so good.
