Awesome food, friendly employees
I’ve been a few times. It’s a hour and half from where I live. It’s worth the drive. On my last visit I had the Georgia boy sandwich and it was superb! Also, the staff is very friendly.
Wonderful first time experience at Big Nicks today! I had the grilled shrimp salad and my daughter had the bbq sandwich with macaroni and cheese on the sandwich on grilled bbq bread. It looked delicious and she said it was! The service was A++ from the young man taking orders to the sweet young lady that brought my food. The employees looked like they actually loved working here. Great atmosphere, I will definitely be back!! Great Job Big Nicks!
Loved it! The atmosphere on a Saturday night at 9pm was enchanting. Grown folks dressed up to hear soulful jazz on the balcony while those of us indoors dined on soulful cuisine. The fish I had there was incredibly well battered. Now that I know about this place I'm going back next Saturday, a little later though, to experience the music. Great food! Great place! Great times!
This place is disgusting. I ordered brisket dinner with Mac n cheese and yams, sweet bbq wings with fried okra and baked beans. The brisket was okay. The Mac n cheese was chewy. I put my fork in it and picked up the entire side out the tray. My yams were hard and didn't have a great taste to them. They weren't seasoned well. I ordered the wings extra wet and they were extra dry and hard. The okra was hard and almost raw in the center. The baked beans were okay. And the "large" drink was the same size as regular. I'm going back home to Albany were the bbq is SOO much better.
I recently moved here to Valdosta and heard nothing but good things about Big Nick's BBQ. But, I have to be honest and say I wasn't quite impressed by my meal. I ordered a rib plate with baked beans and potato salad. My ribs weren't tender at all and I had to do too much hard chewing, I expected much better from a BBQ joint like this one. I do gotta say the young lady at the window was very nice and the customer service is awesome!
Loved the atmosphere!!!! We all ordered something different and it was all amazing. Staff was very accommodating and helpful to those of us who were first timers in the group. The absolute best part was the older gentleman working there who sang happy birthday for us. Love love him. Will be going back to try out the margarita bar ?
I wasn’t sure on how exactly to rate the place seeing as how it was a mixed bag in my opinion. It’s not an establishment where you are seated, then you order. You order at a counter and then you take a seat. I ordered the Georgia Po Boy with fries and collard greens. While I loved the sandwich—especially the fried green tomatoes!!—it took quite a while for my food to come out. I had to go to the front to check on it. The sweet tea and lemonade were great. The fries were ok, and personally, I thought the greens were too sweet. (My friend had the wings with mac & cheese and greens. She enjoyed her wings and the mac, the greens not so much.) I’m not sure if I’d go back there.
Sorry writing this after i ate because the food was sooooooo delicious and seasoning. Now mind you i am a chef i love food . I love the atmosphere and the nice and smiling and warm welcomes you get . The are patient and try to help you find whatever your taste bud desire . Tonya has very very very good customer service and a amazing attitude. Ty (the cashier) are so amazing and very kinda took her time with me because it was my first time . Both when over and beyond they job title … They both need a raise … i can’t wait to come back
Highly disappointed in the size of the sides. The cups are small and I ordered the family meal. I had to order extra sides to go with the original sides because of how small they are. Also, I live 6 minutes from big Nicks and my chicken was dang near ice cold when I got home. I waited 30 minutes to bring home cold chicken and a hand full of sides. And good luck ordering online! If they are out of a side, it will cancel your entire order instead of letting you know the side is unavailable. Overall, I'm unsatisfied.
