It’s one of me and my wife’s favorite places to eat ! The Atmosphere is like the Good Ole Days! The food is Awesome! Y’all’s staff is always so friendly! I give it a 11 out of 10!
We have ate at Charles Sea Food for many years and recently have had multiple bad experiences… the food has been great but the service has been ridiculous. I can understand the restaurant is very busy and we do not care to wait usually… we were seated, then multiple parties were seated around us a few minutes after and our table was completely ignored for more then 30 minutes we sat without even getting our drink order taken while these other individuals had already received drinks, ordered their food and had already revive their starters. We decide to just go ahead and leave and we did not make any scene but we were startled as we went out the door by the waitress yelling at us saying “I told you I was coming” which was very uncalled for, disrespectful and rude. We will not be back and we will not recommend this place anymore.
When traveling we like to try local restaurants vs. a chain. Charlie's was just across the street from our hotel, although we were not paying attention and ended uo downtown Tifton. We finally found it - were seated promptly and the server was there before we had time to look at the menu, which had numerous offerings. We ordered, the food was there quickly and was delicious. This place is not fancy but the food is outstanding. We were very glad we found it.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Reasonable prices. Large portions. The ONLY reason they didn't get 5 stars is because they serve on disposable plates. I like real plates and cutlery when I eat in a sit down restaurant. The seafood is very fresh. I had blackened grouper and husband had grilled flounder. Both excellent and not overly salty. I had baked potato and delicious but very sweet coleslaw. Husband had the slaw with cheese grits. If I lived her I would be a regular. Dinners were from 10.99 to 14.99 with the grouper being the most. Most fancy seafood restaurants aren't any better than this at twice the price. If you pass through Tifton Ga you must give this a try. Thry also have sandwiches and steaks.
We both ordered the inexpensive fried flounder and shrimp combo. They were perfect, lightly battered, not overly greasy and not overcooked. They came with two sides including (really good) fries or baked potato among other things. Service was pleasant. The dining area was casual with several comfortable booths. We'd certainly return when we next visit Tifton.
Not much to look at when you get there... BUT, give it a try. The staff are friendly, pleasant and eager to help you with what ever you need. The food is delicious, we started with Fried Pickles and Fried Sweet Potatoes, and main meal of Flounder and Grilled Salmon/Shrimp Dinners. Also they have beer and wine too. We loved it.
We were passing town and stopped here. You have to keep an open mind alot times when you are a full-time traveler. While they do things different than what we are used to, our meal was quite tasty. My fish was cooked perfect, flaky with a good breading. The staff was super friendly, a good find in Tifton.
Just in town for a couple of days, and decided to try out this little seafood restaurant,. We are very glad we did. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our meal was brought to us quickly, and, was incredibly delicious. Highly recommend!
Stopped here on our way traveling on I 75. Excellent food. Grouper and catfish lightly fried. Customer service was great. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Liked that they put a pitcher of tea on the table. Definitely will return when we travel this way again!
