This is only regarding the customer service. I placed an order through Uber Eats and when I called to confirm my order to ensure that everything would be picked up by driver the lady that answered the phone was rude. No personal affect in her voice and she clearly sounded like I was bothering her while spending my money. She literally held the phone after I clarified why I was calling. I ordered here because Irie Mon stopped accepting orders. The food is not good, as another reviewer mentioned, this is not authentic Jamaican food and it is bland.
I was going to pick a different restaurant because of the 3.9 rating. I generally like to only eat at restaurants with 4.5 and above ratings. But the comments from the owner were so hilarious, that I just had to order! I ordered the oxtails with rice and peas and cabbage. Everything was 100% A+!!But I’m not surprised at all the negative comments. It’s a shame we are like that to each other. Imagine if you owned a company where you had to try to please the general public. It’s impossible. And if truth be told, if this was your restaurant, you’d have some bad reviews too because no matter how hard you try, someone will always be displeased.It’s funny how people say the owner is rude, when many of these comments are are beyond rude: people wishing this business would fail, and saying they’ll never eat here even though they’ve never tasted the food?? Huh??!!!As far as rude employees, I can’t comment on them because I ordered through UberEats, but they sure don’t stop the food from tasting good!!! ???? I will definitely be back FOR THE FOOD BECAUSE IT WAS GREAT!!!Best wishes and good vibes to this establishment. Glad to see you don’t let all the negativity get to you. I wasn't impressed AT ALL! THE rice and peas was horrible, stew chicken and cabbage as well. I only ordered because I pick up a lot of orders from here. But this is not authentic Jamaican food at all. Pass on by this one, nah good
I have ordered from here a few times, the first time it was really good. After that my food has been consistently much too salty. After reading the other reviews they say the food is not seasoned, I’m confused. I ordered curry chicken and also brown soup beef and both were in edible due to being too salty. I will say that I ordered them late at night. I wish there was a way to receive food that was not salty to the point that I can’t eat it.
I asked for extra gravy and my oxtails came with no gravy. When she showed me the plate I made sure to ask was there gravy and she said yes. Food is great I just needed the gravy. You’re saying it didn’t come from you guys, would like to see the receipt or my bank statement?
It's Father's Day and I was about to place an order but wanted to read some of the reviews and the owners responses to criticism. Having read most of these comments and responses as well as someone who is big on "customer service" and food authenticity, I decided to skip ordering online today solely based on the owners lack of professionalism and the ability to accept constructive criticism from its customers who took the time to order, pay then post a response informing you of their experiences.Moreover, we have to learn how to take the good with the bad and improve in order to be consistent as the goal is to provide a good experience. I will come in 1st to see for myself before posting my critiques since I blog about food, the overall experience and the best places to visit from city to city. Just food for thought!
HORRIBLE‼️ HORRIBLE ‼️ HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE‼️ When you walk in, NO ONE greets you, or smile. They barely make eye contact. When it’s your turn to order the chic with the green twist in her hair just says, “who next” and then stare at you until you say what you’d like to order. I actually did NOT order once this happened. I walked out. I don’t want their food bad enough to give my money and I’m not worthy of a simple hello. People always say? SUPPORT BLACK BUSINESSES but they should act like they want support.
I only get curry chicken and a beef patty when I go. I've enjoyed it every time and the portions are nice. The service is hit or miss. Most of the people are like normal servers who smile and says hello while one of them always seems very annoyed that someone dared to enter the shop. That one doesn't even say hello or thanks for coming. It's just an ice grill the whole time and silence as if entering the door was some grave offense that can never be forgiven.It's not a sit down restaurant though and I'm just there to get in and get out quickly so it doesn't bother me too much. If you had questions though or weren't sure what you wanted, it's probably enough to make you not want to come back.
I use to give them 5 stars (10 if I could) But today when I entered I saw a new worker. The heavy set light skin lady that use to work at the Jamaican spot on Memorial Dr. She's the reason I don't go there anymore. HORRIBLE customer service (I was a waitress for 20yrs) Now I got to find a new spot ? good luck to you if you choose to go there while she's there!
Nasty I use to love this place but now they don’t care about what they serve cabbage tasteless rice mushy. Oxtails small with barley any meat. I order Uber eats so I’m guessing they just gave me whatever
