I've been coming here for 25 years. It's only gotten better. I moved to New England 16 years ago and every trip to Atlanta I try to make it to Minato for the best sushi on the East Coast and certainly one of the best in USA - and this includes California!
We hadn't been to Minato's in a few years, it is a little bit out of the way for us. However, we brought another couple who also love Sushi and we were all thrilled with the experience. The same friendly greeting from the staff that has been there "forever." Exceptional service, good social distancing protocols, and of course the most amazing food! If you can't find it on the menu, just ask and the chef will prepare it for you. We are so glad we went to Minato's for dinner!
Traditional Japanese restaurant with much more and welcoming service from owners and staff!. . If you have ever been to japan, this restaurant is very much like a neighborhood sushi bar in japan. From the light and delicious crust on the chicken cutlet to japan-fresh sushi grade fish, this place has both excellent food and warm, gracious service.. . Great menu, great people, great place!

The food was average.
Came in for dinner and was seated right away.. Pleasant atmosphere and a very warm and engaging staff. It had a very homey vibe and inviting.. I ordered a crunchy role and gzoya. The crunchy roll was pretty good and the gzoya was very good.. They also threw in a little appetizer treat as well which was tasty, nice touch.. There was plenty of parking in the lot at no cost.. . Great experience.

I love this sushi restaurant and have frequented this establishment often. Kevin and Ming have been delicately preparing traditional sushi for years. But this place offers more than the normal rolls and nigiri. They have a specials menu and off the menu items that the regulars rave about. Sitting at the sushi bar, you'll enjoy talking with the repeat customers who are friendly, welcoming and include you in their fan based banter. There are several TVs to entertain you if you go solo, but the wait staff are so engaging, you will enjoy talking with them. Fresh ingredients, friendly environment and tucked away location make this a hidden gem. But it's also so close to the new stadium, so its convenient too.

Honestly not sure how this place has so many good reviews. Went here with my boyfriend for our anniversary, we called and made a reservation. After arriving, we waited 15 min before we had our order taken, and the 4 (four) rolls we ordered took another... wait for it... full hour. We ate those and waited another 10 minutes before anyone looked at or acknowledged us. I asked if it was possible to do some of the rolls gluten free (I.e. not fried) and the server suggested the Dynamite roll over the Tampa roll. We said what the heck, we’ll get them both. Took another 30 minutes for those 2 rolls to come out. . Mind you, no one had come into the restaurant for the last hour we were there, so it’s not as if the server was just overwhelmed with people. . I took a bite of the Dynamite and immediately regretted the decision. It was as if I had just eaten a spoonful of mayonnaise out of the jar. I took a bite of the other roll and had the same experience. I had my boyfriend try both to make sure that I wasn’t just being picky and he had the same response. It just tasted like mayo, rice, and a bit of fish. . It took us another 10 minutes to flag down a server who wouldn’t run past us, and we asked her to take it away and take it off. Our main server came back with the bill with only one of the rolls taken off (which we had to figure out ourselves since the receipt was not itemized), then quickly ran away. . Flash forward ANOTHER 5 minutes before we can find the guy again, and we asked him to take the other roll off. He refused, since he had “suggested the other one instead.” We explained that both of the rolls had the same issue (the mayo) and he still refused to take it off the bill.. . TDLR; Terrible service, horribly long wait times, unapologetic staff, mediocre sushi, and suspicious non-itemized receipts. Will not be coming back.
