There is a bit of wait on Saturday evenings, but there's a reason. This place is great. The entrance may confuse you, but the service and the food are great. My sushi rolls came out late past our dinner, but the chef sent out a Super Crunchy roll as an apology. I appreciate places that do that, while understanding that mistakes happen. Everything was just what we wanted for a nearby Japanese restaurant, and very reasonable pricing. We'll definitely be back!
Simply amazed by everthing from the service, sushi portions, the savory fish portions tender and fresh. Its a hidden sushi bar with great atmosphere with friendly staff. Check there times because it can get busy, but worth the wait.
Very poor service. We waited 10 minutes after being seated. Had to track down a server. Only 4 tables were seated. Once we received menus the prices were outrageous to say the least. Sashimi was $6 per piece!!!. So we left !
Best sushi and best kept secret in Atlanta. Service is amazing and food is beyond words. 5 stars is not enough - 10+ stars for sure.
Semi-busy on a Sat night but the wait wasn't too bad. Staff are super friendly. Sushi and sashimi exceeded expectations! Get the Super Crunch, even if you don't like tempura (as I don't usually) it is very tasty. Spicy tuna roll was my favorite. Friend dumplings also amazing. Overall excellent food and nice staff, definitely going back or ordering take out for my next Sushi craving.
This restaurant's casual relaxed atmosphere and tavern decor should not distract you from its incredible food!The fish here is very fresh for an inland restaurant and the fish to rice ratio on their niguiri is excellent. Their house-made eel sauce doesn't have a touch of burnt taste to it and is worth getting on everything!This is now one of my favorite sushi spots in Atlanta.
We have been customers of Minatos for years and we always choose Minatos as our favorite sushi and family go to restaurant!!!! Secret Smyrna restaurant so keep up their great reputation!!! Linda and Bob Dhue!! Maybe order “Cowboy hat” and SuperCrunch roll!!! Omg soo delicious!!!! Enjoy !!!!!!

Minato always has the freshest, most delicate sushi, excellent drinks and the staff is stellar! Once you have this sushi, you won't want to go anywhere else. I've been coming here for years and always throughly enjoy it!!!
Great family restaurant with excellent portions and cuts of fish. Got a number of rolls and loved them all. Miso was solid as well. This place can fill up as regulars have been coming for twenty years. Fantastic spot in an unassuming location.
