Dinner at Toni’s Steakhouse was one of the best stops on our trip thru SC, GA and FL. Restaurant was just down the street from our hotel. Husband ordered the Veal Parmesan & I ordered the grilled chicken breast. Food & customer service was great - we’ll stop again if we’re in the Savannah area.
Chose to dine here because it was close to our hotel. Arrived 6:15 pm on a Friday and were seated right away. The interior is small but intimate, very clean, tables are aptly spaced so it certainly didn't feel cramped. We started with an order of Fried Green Tomatoes. Five slices arrived served on a scant bed of Romaine lettuce. They were okay. The coating was nice, thin & crisp but not really seasoned. There was a slight drizzle of Remoulade, but not enough. Also ordered a Wedge Salad, which arrived not as a wedge but two slabs of Iceburg lettuce with two small sliced grape tomatoes, and a sprinkling each of Chopped bacon, blue cheese crumbles and some sliced scallions. I didn't bother taking a photo, since there was nothing remotely attractive about this dish. Barely ate any of this, just pushed it aside and let the server take it away. It was a waste of $8.00.For entree we chose the 14 oz Ribeye with mashed potatoes and upgraded to Asparagus. The plate arrived with 7 Asparagus spears, a small scoop of mashed potatoes and a sizeable ribeye steak. The steak was seasoned nicely and cooked exactly as requested, but was terribly sinewy, more like what one would expect from, say, a Texas Roadhouse sirloin (actually that might have been better). In fact, as I was attempting to cut a piece off, I was able to pick up the whole steak by a "string".The Asparagus was also cooked nicely, retaining a little crunch, but wasn't seasoned at all. The mashed potatoes were just blah, very dry, nothing special.Service was very good, our server Bunny was pleasant, personable and efficient. Though she was made aware of our dissatisfaction, she made no efforts to rectify any of the issues. The bill came to $70 & change before 20% tip. I left the restaurant feeling let down. Definitely the least satisfying meal I've had this whole week of traveling. This will not be on the "return" list for the next time we're in the area.
Pricy but Great steaks. You get what you pay for when it comes to the meat. These cooks know their meat terms. Every bite is juicy seasoned and tender. Desserts are also yummy and surprisingly not boring to eat. Excellent Service. Servers checked after every plate and diligent. The calamary I had however had no seasoning, a disappointment because I could tell it was cooked fresh. Call for reservations as this place is almost always busy. Will come again.
zero. I've never seen that before. We were put behind a pillar and we were a bit forgotten... 20 minutes to ask us what we wanted as a drink. 3/4 hour to serve us the dish, no cutlery no napkins, when we asked for them it seemed like we were asking for the moon. You had to ask two different people. The waitress made a face. The steak very well on the other hand the cook had dropped the pepper shrimp in the alfredo pasta shrimp. As no one was coming back I asked for the bill myself at the counter. Very disappointed, 2 hours lost, I will not recommend at all.
Best steak we have had in a very long time. Baked potato was perfect. Food, services, and atmosphere all wonderful. Quiet and able to carry on a conversation.
Excellent! Great atmosphere, service and the food is outstanding! We had the pleasure of the owner “Toni” taking care of us at the bar. He makes the best drinks and makes you feel special by always checking on you. We had the bacon appetizer, burger, shrimp alfredo and cheesecake and it was all perfect! The house made bread is to die for as well. We will definitely be back!
Made reservations for dinner at 9pm. The place was crowded but we were next in line to be seated. Behind us came in a couple who were obviously frequent guest as they were warmly greeted and promised immediate seating by the host. As the host on Friday, April 15th 2022 walked away I said to my husband that I we needed to be seated first because we had reservations and arrived first. Fortunately the other guest declined to be seated before us as he knew it was unfair. I wish I could say that all went well after that but I cannot. Service was super slow which we sort of expected, but being served food with no silverware and no napkins was the worst. After informing the forgetful waitress who took forever to bring the silverware, she proceeded to place the silverware nakedly on the table with no cloth napkin like the other guest had. Upon informing her of no napkins, she gave us some torn off paper towels until she could return again. I wish I could say that all went well but the serving amounts were not sufficient for the amount of money spent. We also received the hot bread promised before our meal at the same time we got our meal and needless to say it was cold and hard. What a wasted night! Never going back! Too many great steak places in Savannah to settle for disrespect, a kids plate, and a forgetful waitress who was all over the place except our table.
We walked in without a reservation. Were told a 10-15 minute wait. We were not offered a drink menu. We ordered a glass of wine at the bar, then a second. The wine was good but we were a bit surprised that it was $15 a glass. We waited after asking and were seated after 30 minutes. We waited at the table for another 20 minutes with no service. We finally got menus. We should have gotten ourselves out the door. The owner came and took our order Then we waited and waited. The entrees were mediocre. The steaks were thin and quite average. We gently offered the owner some constructive criticism and he was rude and curt. My recommendation is to steer clear of this place. They are understaffed, the food is just OK and the owner is less than accomodating.
The food was magnificent but the wait time is horrible. The waiters/waitresses needs to be more focused on the customers. The attention to me as a customer is subpar. Make sure you have plenty time to spare when dining here.
Fantastic first visit! Went for an early dinner and were seated right away. Ordered the maple bacon and provoletta as appetizers. The maple bacon was my favorite: Thick cut bacon served on a bed of lettuce with a bourbon maple glaze. My husband loved the provoletta: baked provolone cheese with olive oil and tomatoes served with tosted bread. For our entree we decided to try the Chateaubriand for 2. It's an 18oz tenderloin in a mushroom sauce that comes with 4 sides. We were expecting a dark burgundy mushroom sauce and were surprised to see a lighter thicker sauce. That steak with that sauce was probably the best thing I've ever tasted. The meat was tender cooked perfectly medium rare. The sauce was creamy and flavorful. For our sides we ordered steamed broccoli, sauted mushrooms, wilted spinach, and brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were my favorite. Well worth the $4.99 surcharge. Service was great, atmosphere was lovely. Overall we really enjoyed Toni's and will definitely visit again on our next trip to Savannah.
