Good food and the server, Jenna, was amazing! It's somewhat loud downstairs, but we were upstairs for our meal. The dinner was tasty, albeit just a tad salty (nothing too major). The drinks were good and strong. The only thing I'd say is that the Fitzroy, when it comes to ambience, doesn't particularly have an "identity" and seems to take in from a multitude of different perspectives.
Great food all around - the poutine and the short rib were amazing! Definitely a bit short staffed but the staff seemed to be on top of things. Also got our drinks to go which is an added park in this area. Highly recommend!
We tried a few small bites/appetizers and they were fantastic. Drinks were so good and service was awesome. We sat in small room upstairs and it was very quiet and perfect for a date night. Def a must try!
Yummy food, good cocktails, fair downtown prices. Service was excellent. One star deducted for google showing that they do happy hour 3-5. they DO NOT HAVE a HAPPY HOUR! Went here initially at 4pm to doors closed, so went next door to hotel instead. Came here about a year ago for happy hour to same situation - locked doors. And reason given that they can't change this notice isn't good enough - CHANGE google ad already!
The outside seating was an ideal location for a romantic date and the food was amazing. Service was also very good, would recommend.
The service here was excellent. We had the rooftop patio all to ourselves which was awesome. It was breezy and cool up there even on a hot day. Good food and good drinks as well.
The place is nice with an inviting ambiance, and a bar facing the main entrance leading to the seating area (there seemed to be an upper floor area but we did not go there). Elizabeth, our server, was very nice and efficient. The food was the highlight: we had the salmon and the "special" which was the filet. Although we were not asked how we liked the filet cooked - it came a little overdone for a filet - the sides included broccolini and a classic mashed potato with a signature sauce, which was delicious! The salmon was also very good, particularly the exquisite sauce. I asked for the toasted bread with olive oil and salt appetizer - needed more toasting and more olive oil and salt! We had a cooked strawberry and vanilla ice cream dessert - delicious and not too sweet. The total was a little on the heavy side (over $100 for two with only one cocktail for a drink). The very low attendance (the place was over half empty) might have to do with the request for a credit card to hold a reservation, and an imposed $20 per person fee for "no shows" on OpenTable. This seems very unusual in my experience and might deter people from going there just because there are so many other places nearby to go to without this restriction (even though the food in other restaurants might not be so good!). Overall a very good experience.
Great place!
I come to Savannah a lot and hadn't been to the Fitzroy yet. Absolute gem. We opted to sit up on the rooftop and it was an intimate setting with a nice breeze and a fan keeping things cooler during the summer heat. Our server Stevie had a fantastic personality and his recommendations were on point. Service was great, the cocktails were tasty and food was absolutely amazing. I got the special (filet mignon) and it was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. My dining companion got the bangers and mash and they were spot on as well. Highly recommend the Fitzroy and will definitely be back to try the other menu items!
Steak had a lot of gristle and fat, so hard to eat. The chicken schnitzel was burned.
