Our family eats at Sweet Potatoes often and we absolutely love it! Friendly staff/owner and the food IS AMAZING! We’ve tried it all and it’s all scrumptious from entrees to banana pudding!! Thanks Sweet Potatoes for having some yummy Southern cooking!

We were here for our family gathering and this where we had one of our luncheon. The staff were top notch and didn’t skip a beat. Despite the crowd, everyone’s food came out fairly quickly. This is a must stop if you ever come to Savannah.

Best restaurant in Savannah!! We ordered the jerk chicken with mashed sweet potatoes, black-eyed pea relish, and dilled Lima beans, and the pecan crusted chicken with sweet potato fries and lemon collards. It was all fantastic. The jerk chicken was sweet and smoky with just the right amount of spice. The mashed sweet potatoes and relish were the perfect accompaniment. The pecan chicken was just as good, with crispy fries, and tangy greens. The food was fresh and so flavorful. Save room for dessert! The coconut cake and banana pudding were amazing. My wife has sampled the coconut cake at restaurants across the country and said it was the best she ever had. Also, excellent, friendly service with great food recommendations! Pro tip - come early on Saturday to avoid the rush. On his way out, a local said this is the best restaurant in Savannah, and we agree!

This place has a rep for the best banana pudding around and they live up to it. Stopped in on a road trip just for the banana pudding, and was shocked to see several other people coming g there to pick up to go orders of just the same. Absolutely must try this spot.

It’s not a restaurant you hear too much about because it’s located in Savannah’s Southside rather than the tourist-laden downtown area. But don’t be fooled! The food is sensational and it is arguably one of Savannah’s best kept secrets.

While in Savannah, we decided to try Sweet Potatoes for dinner. I had the half mixed Peach BBQ chicken dinner. The chicken was moist and the peach topping was flavorful. My wife had the special of the day spinach salad with grapes and cranberries. She enjoyed it. The banana pudding us a must try (more like a whipped mousse than a pudding). Josh our waiter was very attentive and very affable. All and all a great experience.

Truly is the best banana pudding I ever had.. I came here just for that.. it had bits of wafers in it.. so good I would definitely recommend and come back.

Absolutely delicious. I can see why its a local favorite. The service is super quick, the staff is friendly, and they keep everything clean. Food is perfectly seasoned as well

This experience was sad. We expected some tasty southern entrees and flavorful veggies. Husb had cod, black eye peas and glazed apples. He said the cod was ok and the apples but the black eye peas were canned, probably Lucks which can be mushy. Their seasoning couldn't help the canned taste. I had 4 veg plate. The salad/b.cheese dressing were good. The green beans were canned with hard shellies that weren't done. The mashed potatoes were ok. The collard greens were good but had lemon as their seasoning which was a new one for me. They were probably from frozen but were the best. He had banana pudding and l had coconut cake. They were both acceptable. We both had tea. The bill came to $50 and that was wayyyyyy over priced!!! We could have had a steak dinner for that and l only had veggies. I understand the last 2 yrs have been terrible for businesses but it still seemed high for the quality.

Our family of four enjoyed a relaxing lunch at Sweet Potatoes. The umbrella area was perfect spot to eat and converse and the service was excellent as was the food. When we wanted to try the featured Banana Pudding, the server recommended we start with one bowl and 4 spoons. That was a great recommendation--while we loved the pudding, four servings would have been wasted because the pudding was quite large and very rich. This way we had the amount we could handle and didn't feel too full for comfort. Excellent lunch for our needs.
