Terrible service, mediocre food. After waiting 45 minutes my husband was told they’re out of the smoked sausage. He then ordered the Smokehouse dawg instead. His Smokehouse dawg was served bare - without the pulled pork and coleslaw as indicated on the menu. The man and cheese was mushy and greasy. The potatoe salad needed salt.Enjoyed the pulled pork and collard green spring rolls.
We went in and tried to order. I had to repeat everything twice because the girl taking my order kept turning completely away from me to insert herself into the drama/gossip they were discussing behind the counter. Finally got my order in, and went to sit with my family. As I'm looking around I notice the floor is so filthy it looks like it hasn't been swept in days. Gross. Anyways, fast forward to our food arriving. The chicken was so overcooked and dried out we couldn't even eat it. The greens were undercooked and flavorless, and the potato salad tasted like cardboard. The Mac and cheese was great though! I just felt like I was in a high school commons area with the way the employees were acting and behaving. We won't be back
I was not really impressed. We had good expectations though. The Mac and Cheese was very mushy and under seasoned. The brisket did not have alot of flavor. And the chicken was very dry. The sauces were really good though. And the service was pretty good. I was very disappointed with the banana pudding. However, the fried green tomatoes were certainly delicious.
We have been to a lot of BBQ joints and Smokehouse's and Savannah Smokehouse it is the best BBQ we have ever had and had amazing portion sizes. We will be back here for sure before we leave town! Highly highly recommend!!
Not a great sign for a bbq joint when every one of the sides tastes better than the meats. The pork was dry, the brisket was uninspiring, the turkey was alright, and the chicken was great! However that's the exact opposite order you hope to rank those 4 items when going to a bbq spot. Lastly, the cornbread was so dry it tasted like it sat out for the past 10 hours.
The workers here were extra friendly and happy. All our food was great. I decided to be adventurous and get the southern egg rolls and they were surprisingly good. Also this was my first time having Brunswick stew and it’s really good. Great place to stop!
Stumbled upon this after a long full day of driving in to Savannah from out of state. So happy we did. We are huge southern BBQ fans and this didn’t disappoint. Casual environment with plenty of options for everyone, good serving sizes and overall just delicious. Great table-side sauce options (our favorite was Carolina Sauce). Sweet potato fries came with a delicious caramel sauce - fantastic.
It was... meh. I expected it to be really amazing! The okra, cornbread and banana pudding were great. The brisket was like a slice of fat and the macaroni was crunchy (boodles not cooked all the way). Sorry, just wasn't a fan.
We were only in Savannah for one night and decided to eat dinner here and are so glad we did! Delicious food and friendly staff. We had the ribs and fried green tomato blt. Everything was cooked perfectly and the sides were great as well, especially the fried okra. Would definitely come back here if we travel to Savannah again.
We tried this restaurant on our first trip in December, great food. My daughter insisted we return for this trip. The smoked meats were SO moist, great taste for each person in our group. The sides are good and this trip … banana pudding too!! So ever time we’re in town- Savannah Smokehouse!!
