We stopped at Papa’s during a visit to Savannah on the way to our airbnb. Our waiter, James was great! He gave us a brief history on the restaurant and made suggestions on what to order. First time having a shrimp salad sandwich and it was delicious. I can’t remember the soup but it had crab and it was also tasteful.

Love you James (waiter)! The shrimp salad sandwich was so fresh. The amount given allows you to eat half and eat the rest later.

We had a catered lunch from papas. It was absolutely fantastic. The bbq was delicious the sides where great. Wish I could give them a 10

Food was just ok. Got smoked wings and didn't feel they were that special. Have a serious food allergy and waiter was not familiar with ingredients. My parents loved their seafood, that was the important ones.

Excellent Choice and Still ImprovingPapa's changed management about 4 months ago and the new owner is doing a great job. He has added menu items and improved the quality of several entrees. Their long term staff are continuing to provide the best service they can. We go there several times a week. Why not five stars? --waiting for them to get their liquor license renewed.

Best crab stew and seafood gumbo that we have had in this area! Biggest portion and came out hot! Best service we have had also. Husband had grilled shrimp poboy. I had chicken salad. They have greens and vegetables also. Everything was so good.

Wonderful service, not a long wait time, pretty restaurant, and the food was great!! Definitely loved the cajun fies

I truly hate giving one star reviews. Especially because I love to support local and this restaurant is right down the street from me, but unfortunately I’m not going back. Our waitress was great, food was extremely mediocre at best. I ordered my 3 year old the fried shrimp kids dinner. She didn’t care for them so I took a bite and they still had the shells on. I’m glad she didn’t eat them because that is definitely a choking hazard. I myself feel like the shell is still stuck in my throat. My salad was brown and the chicken was hard. Other than that the waitress who had the table next to us, sat down at her table and was talking about deaths and the news and such, which is not what we wanted to hear going out for a nice family dinner. Unfortunately, it was so loud we couldn’t even talk amongst ourselves. We got our first appetizer before we got our drinks. Overall, we will not be returning.

The food is the best. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken with fried okra and sweet potato fries and sweet tea. It was so much food for such little price well worth the drive from Guyton am taking over half home.

Being out on vacation and not paying attention, we had a party of 8 close to closing. The food came out fast, every bit of it delicious and our server had stayed over his time along with the owner in order for us to enjoy a meal. Thanks to them, a wonderful start to a week's vacation. I recommend this place to everyone who enjoys seafood and BBQ.
