We wanted to visit here since it is known to be a haunted restaurant. Our server, Stokes, was so friendly and lovely. She took us to the basement to look for ghosts (we didn’t see any, but did have orbs in our photos). Food and beer were delicious and Stokes was awesome. Highly recommend!
We had a surprise birthday party for our daughter in law in a room downstairs. The ambiance was great with brick walls, barrels and they decorated with lights and tablecloths. We were able to bring in our own decorations as well and the place became downright enchanting! We had two bartenders/servers that went above and beyond to make sure everyone got what they wanted. The food was surprisingly good for “pub fare” and our entire party was pleased!
OK, here goes: the beer was excellent. Food not so much. My wife and I had dinner here and I thoroughly enjoyed my whacky wit Belgian wheat beer that was brewed by the proprietor. Super fresh and tasty. Honesty one of the best I have had in a long time. However, the food is very average. We had stuffed mushrooms that were not cooked through. The chorizo filling was good but I’m not down for nearly raw shrooms. I orders the Mac and cheese bowl and was totally underwhelmed. The chicken tenders and bacon were good - but you really can’t mess that up. The Mac and cheese was bland, overcooked, and uninspired. My wife had the shrimp and grits which was bland, boring and seemingly slapped together. Have a few beers but fill your tummy elsewhere.
Okay..sorry...I write em the way I see em.. Two of us hit there about 330 on Monday the fourth...they weren't too busy...I just wanted to try their beers..I had the ipa and my friend had the pilsner...beers were pretty good too... Didn't do any food. Probably because we were disappointed in the service..and we were at the bar!..almost zero service That killed it for us Thanks for the beers though..mighta had more than one...
The beer is 5-stars, but knocked a star off for the food. I got the beer bratwurst and my wife got a burger - both were okay. Our loaded tots appetizer was excellent. The flight of beer is reason enough to come back.
Didn't have food, but I've heard the burger is great. Of course this brewery caters to their beer clients, but the full bar is great. Side note: their ice water is some of the best I've had in Savannah if you are like me and need water with everything. Feels fun, not haunted, but it was lively (though not packed) when I was present and I was only out front. I think the haunts are further in if that's your thing.
The drink was pretty refreshing on a hot day. Loved that I could take my dog and they catered to her with a fresh bowl of water. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Our chicken sandwiches lacked flavor and the tender juiciness we prefer.
My husband and I went to eat at the restaurant via a recommendation but we walked out. The person seating us was so young and appeared to be confused about how to seat us. We were finally seated however no one approached us for 15 minutes finally the bar maid came over with a very grumpy attitude and asked us what we wanted. We told her we were never given a menu wherein she picked up a specialty card and said there’s a barcode at which time my husband said we are not tech savvy and could we have a menu. She went and got the menus and again a grumpy attitude just plopped down the menus and went behind the bar. We waited for her to come back but we thought this is not how you represent the place where you work and was concerned then with the caliber of the food, so we left. She may have been angry with having to play waitress but too bad.
My wife and I stopped into Moon River Brewing on our recent vacation to Tybee. We didn't have to wait and were seated immediately. They appeared to be a bit short staffed that day, as it took some time to get waited on. I got the beer sampler, and they were all pretty good beers. I'm an IPA guy, so the Swamp Fox was my favorite. I got the burger, and my wife got the taco-tillas. The food was really good, and I recommend both! We ended up back here one other night and just got drinks at the bar. Moon River definitely has a good atmosphere and I recommend giving it a try!
Stopped by for a quick beer and snack. Service was friendly and quick. Beer was cold. Tater tots were cold even though the server warned us the plate would be hot. Perhaps just an off day but would not return.
