Staff was great - friendly and made good recommendations. The food options were fairly typical, good and the portion size was very good. The margherita's were very good and strong.
We were getting pretty hungry and wanted a late lunch/early dinner before our hearse tour. It didn't seem like much was open. Finally we found Jalapeños. The margaritas and the complimentary chips and salsa were very good and our attentive server Aiya kept them coming! I had the Carne Asada Tacos w/ a small side of guacamole and I was happy with my food, as were my companions. I've been to many Mexican restaurants with much better decor than Jalapeños . In their defense though, Broughton St, being ripped to smithereens in front of us, added little to it's charm.
Everything about this place is pretty mediocre. It's Mexican-inspired cuisine that really tries to hit down the middle and does so pretty well. Medium salsa pulp. The house guacamole is a small dish of guac-like pudding. Margaritas are just a sugary-tasting store mix.They have two legitimate vegan options, which I give them props for, but no vegan protein (tofu, tempeh, seitan, impossible, beyond, etc.). Potato tacos is your best bet.If you are an average family who loves average food (if places like Chili's and Olive Garden are your jam), this place is for you and you'll love it. If you're looking for the best local cuisine or copious omnivore options, pick another restaurant on the street.Dinner for two with 2 adult drinks and housemade guac was around $70.Not bad, not great. Right down the middle.
Service was excellent. Drinks, Chips and Salsa served right away. Food was average. Ordered dessert, their FLAN was fresh and so delicious!
Jalapeños Mexican Grill- Really good for basic and some really different Mexican foods. Of course chips and salsa served immediately- Drinks were excellent! Rice and black beans were great, as a side. Food had a lot of protein- not overly filled with veggies.....we were really impressed as we are not easily impressed with mexican faire.
This place has really good quesadillas. The service was great. Our waiter (I forgot his name but he is from Venezuela) was super kind and very charismatic. The paloma was pretty good it could use more grapefruit and was really strong as well. Guacamole was great. Cute outdoor seating right on the sidewalk.
Nice place for Mexican. Had a couple different draft beer options. The chihuahua beer was pretty tasty, similar to Tecate if you like that beer. Had a decent selection for different Mexican food. Great tequila selection ranging from normal to really expensive
Delicious fajita chicken Quesadilla & Avocado chicken wrap. Soft taco were nice but not the best.
Very clean authentic Mexican food. Seated right away in busy Savannah on a Saturday Evening. Tasty margaritas at a reasonable price.
