Good food, good prices, nice staff.
Great service and food. Blackened shrimp was amazing.
Great place. The atmosphere and hospitality amazing!
This was our first trip back to Flying Fish after the pandemic, over a year ago. I'm happy to say the food is still top quality as is the service! Same friendly waitress and hostess as last time. The low country boil had a huge amount of food and the shrimp were delicious as was the sausage. The blackened mahi taco just melted in your mouth, totally amazing and moist. We went at 1 pm on a Wednesday because on our way past the restaurant on a Sunday at two the place was packed. Fantastic place to eat. It's also spacious so if they have enough staff there is plenty of room. You can't miss going here!
Great atmosphere, but food was nothing special. If all you want is fried seafood, you're probably safe. I tried the grilled Mahi, and got some small strips of fish that were probably Mahi, but were definitely frozen at some point. Service was great.
We were told everything you could order here would be delicious and they were right. We were not disappointed. I got the devil crab and my bf got the captain's dish which came with a little bit of everything. Service was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. Would highly recommend.
Food was fine, but service was excruciatingly slow. We went on a Sunday evening, seated with no wait (5:45pm). Food wasn’t delivered until 7:10 (ordered drinks with a normal wait, no appetizers). It’s a nice atmosphere, but our kids definitely ran out of patience. Seems like the type of place that relies on one-time tourists rather than repeat business.
Date of our visit was 03/26. This place was definitely better than Paula Deen's Creek House, but not by much, with two exceptions. We started with the fried crab claws which included a remoulade sauce. Entrees were blackened shrimp with baked potato and slaw and fried flounder with baked potato and tomato salad. Claws were the first exception. Over a pound of them with an excellent remoulade sauce. Pig out on these babies! 4/5. Blackened shrimp arrived lukewarm and they were grilled not blackened. Shrimp were too small for the price of the entree. 2/5 Flounder arrived lukewarm and in a soggy batter. My wife said she liked the fish but I could tell, like me, that she wasn't too impressed. A lot of fish but I could tell they were not fresh. 2/5 Spuds were also lukewarm. Slaw and tomato salad good but nothing special. 2/5 The other exception was our server, Susannah. Quite the good looker, she was courteous and attentive, earning herself a nice tip. 4/5 Would not return and do not recommend.
Great atmosphere! Food was really great as well as the service. Highly recommend this place and it's also pretty friendly.
I am being generous with my rating but trust me when I tell you that the wait staff deserves 5 stars, the kitchen staff needs some help. Party of 4, 1 order was completely wrong, my food was completely cold, husband's hot side was cold, cold side was warm. Potential is definitely there but needs someone to really look at how to make some improvements.
