Not sure if it was because we were black or not, but 3 tables that sat down after us (it was just 2 of us) drinks and dinner orders were taken before we got our drinks. We received our food after waiting for almost an hour! One table was able to get their food and finish eating before we got our food. My dates order was messed up. I had to ask 3 times for the check. We didn't eat in we decided that our night was ruined got our boxes payed and went out separate ways!
They are normally a good place to eat and have a conversation. They've been here for years and not updated so authentically it's not awesome. They keep it really dark and it's hard to see the menu. The food is good but lately the service ends once your meal is delivered. On our last visit we sat for 15 minutes after the table was cleared and still ahd to find our server and request the check so we could pay for our meal.
I always look forward to this place. I order for carry out on my lunch and I've never had to wait for my food. It is always ready when I arrive. I order the chicken tacos and the portions are always filling and the food is always fresh and taste great! I love that the salsa for the tacos is a different salsa than for the one they give you for your tortilla chips, that way you get a variety of flavors and heat. Fernando at front, is always welcoming, professional and polite. I recommend this establishment.
Was greeted by Fernando as the host, and Angela was my server. Both were pleasant and friendly in speaking with. El Potro has been a favorite Mexican restaurant of mine for many years. Cozy private booths, ambient Mexican music.Buffet hours are: Friday 11-9, Sat. & Sun 11-3.Food is always very tasty, and authentic Mexican dishes.I had the Texan Fajitas, combination of chicken, beef, shrimp, choice of flour or corn tortillas. Along with a frozen mango margarita, which Angela suggested and was very tasty.The atmosphere is of a real Mexican restaurant, as compared to larger Mexican chain establishments.A wonderful meal, and experience. I recommend for great tasting food, come here.
Never have I been to a Mexican buffet . Very clean and quiet . Food was pretty good . Prices are a bit steep for what I viewed . Four stars for the fact it wasn't terrible.
We had the dinner buffet and it was reallygood. The booths were really awesome they were super private and very comfy. We will definitely be back!
This used to be a good place. I came in today @ 12:15…at 1:02 I still haven’t gotten my food! Service was TERRIBLE!! Server was nonchalant. Manager was nonchalant! Salsa was salty. I ended up leaving hungry and disappointed. AWFUL PLACE! They need to close down
WORST PLACE EVER TO EAT IN SAVANNAH!! Salsa was salty and the service was TERRIBLE!! Took an hour to get food and the food was STILL wrong!! I left hungry! Manager and servers were RUDE! They will NEVER get my business again and I’m sharing this review on ALL my social media platforms!
Best vegetarian fajitas Ive had in a moment. You do pay for extra tortillas, which was new to me. Not a big deal, just a heads up.
I have gone to this El Potros for over 5 years now. I used to love this place up until the past 6 months as my experiences here have not been great. This most recent visit my girlfriend and I were seated and for 15 minutes the only thing we were served were chips and salsa without a greeting. We finished the entire salsa without anybody offering us even a glass of water. There were only about 4 other tables in the entire restaurant. I think I’ll be going to another restaurant from here on out.
