I literally drive from Hilton Head at least once a week to visit David's crab house. They have the absolute best dungeness crabs ever

Was visiting from Columbia and suddenly had a taste for some crabs. Found this establishment after a quick Google search and the reviews were too good to pass up. This place is definitely the best I've had so far! The garlic crabs and shell on shrimp were so good my husband and I went back the next day to grab more before we left. The guy who I assume is the owner was so friendly and let you try samples! Definitely give them a visit if you're ever in the city. And ask for the hot sauce! Highly recommend!

Wonderful little place! We stopped here on our way through Savannah and I’m so glad we did. We got SO MUCH FOOD and it was all so tasty. The front end attendant was wonderful - she talked with us and let us try some things and we really appreciated her being so open and patient as we figured out what to order. The food was delicious and you definitely get your moneys worth! Great family run place and I love to see them do well.

We were traveling to the area and happened to be close by. We were very impressed! The seafood is served cold, which is different, so I wasn't sure at first, but it was fantastic. The flavor of the seasoning is very unique to other seafood we've had. It's mostly garlic, but it has a Korean kick to it. Definitely try this place out and let them know if it's your first time. :)

This was so good! My first time getting seafood down south and chose this place. Phenomenal and great customer service. Especially for first timers because you get to sample whatever you’d like. Soooooo good!

Stopped by for take-out while visiting Savannah for a few days. The staff was so friendly — they gave us samples of everything on the menu (like, four full crab legs, plus everything else they offer, without us even asking) before we even ordered anything. We ordered a full pound of snow crab, a medium garlic shrimp, and a crab rice to split between two of us. It was INCREDIBLE — the crab was so meaty, the seasoning was the perfect balance of spicy and savory and buttery. We chilled a bottle of white wine in our hotel fridge and had ourselves a little feast, we were so content. I can’t recommend visiting David’s enough while you’re in town.

The reason I said no, What's a low country boil without crabs? I have been supportive enough to with this place. Since 2017 when I move from SC. Now when I eat here it's always something different. If you are going to be out of crabs in your low country boil just add a different type to the plate. Also with your prices going up. It's so not worth it.

On Tuesday, March 15, my family had our first experience at David's Crab house and it was an awesome one. The owner was very friendly and even allowed us to taste the crab before we purchased it because it was our first time. We all purchased the garlic crab legs and the seasoning on the crabs are so good and homemade which is even better. We will definitely be going back. It is worth it!! You will NOT be disappointed.

The garlic crabs-crab legs-shrimp here are really good but my rating is based on two separate interactions with the owner. He was unprofessional and overstepped. When I come in I want to be treated with courtesy and respect each time. Never had a problem with any other employee besides him. I use to live in Savannah and often come back for work. I make it my business to come here each time but after the second encounter with the owner, I’m rethinking that.Don’t attempt to make me look “silly” for paying with my phone then asking for a receipt for a $40+ purchase. When I said I needed it for work the response was “use your own paper”. What a “silly” and unprofessional thing to say to a customer. When I’m in your place of business, spending money, I don’t need an unsolicited lecture about what you do for the community and that’s why I should patronize any other Crab House in Savannah. Its my prerogative to do business wherever I please. I am REALLY big on customer service and just because you have a good product that does not mean that you are exempt.

I wish I would’ve tried this place my first night in town. It took a few days to appear on my radar, but once there, I wanted nothing else. The first night, I had the snow crabs, shrimp, and tried some conk, and actually liked it after having tried it once before 30 years ago in the Bahamas and writing it off, I thought forever, but I will eat conk from David’s, now. Don’t like seafood? Have you ever been to David’s? You should go, and you’ll learn that yes, seafood is actually delicious when it’s done up like this. It’s healthy, too. This is not deep fried. They’ll give you butter to dip it in, but really, it doesn’t need anything. It’s spiced just right and is absolutely succulent. If I ever have to choose my last meal, they’ll have to fly me to Savannah because there is no substitute for this place, and no mail order for seafood this fresh.
