We went to Carey Hilliard's 8/4/2022 after a doctor's appointment. My husband had the pork plate and I had chicken fingers. Both meals were very good and plentiful. Our waitress was Michelle. She is one of the best waitresses we have ever had. When she went to one of her tables, she stopped by them all to see if anyone needed anything. She kept our glasses full and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Good help is hard to find these days and the Carey Hilliard's team has got a great employee, I hope they can keep her around. She will be a great asset to their team.
I went to order dinner to eat for the day and as iwalk in it was like all the employees had a smile on their faces and customer service was great and the food was awesome, I was amazed how a place of business have their employees focus on their job with professional curiosity, thank you Carey Hillard I definitely will return furore of that great service.
I was expecting a call from upper management today, 6/29, yet it never came. So it’s time to tell about my dissatisfaction. I took my son and granddaughter to dinner at the Abercorn restaurant. Not one smile from anyone employee did I see the entire visit. The food was cold, not even lukewarm. We were sitting close enough to see the service window and hear the expeditor call server’s names. He placed food on the counter and a name I never heard. I wondered if that was ours since there was a plate of onion rings with this order. Our waitress brought us the onion rings which were sitting in front of the other dinners. I thought maybe the rings were a separate order from the dinners. They rings were lukewarm. About 3 minutes later, she brought us our plates. These were the same plates which had been sitting for several minutes. Our dinners had zero temperature. Our waitress took our plates back to the counter. She came back and assured us it would not be too long. I asked if they were reheating or recooking. She said they would recook. 5-6 minutes later she brought our “recooked” meals. This food was merely lukewarm. I took my plate to the counter and told the expeditor our recooks were barely warm. He immediately went into the kitchen. I never saw him again. Our waitress apologized yet no manager came to us with an apology. I’ve worked in several restaurants, and when there is an unhappy customer a manager ALWAYS goes to the customer and apologizes and tries to make the customer happy. My granddaughter was fine with her meal and she ate. I told our waitress to bring me the check for the onion rings, my granddaughter’s food and our drinks. Still no manager ever came. We paid and we left. Funny how there were several waitresses gathered at the waitress station while our food sat on the counter getting cold. Cold food, plenty of empty hands to run food, not one single smile (not even from the host), no manager’s apology and no I won’t be back. I’ve been dinning at Carey’s for over 40 years and have never been so disappointed.
This is a great place to eat!! The menu is very versatile, loads of food options to choose from. The atmosphere is very welcoming and homey. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I visit frequently!!
Ordered two grilled shrimp salad and a fried chicken salad. I had to ask for the dressings even though they were on the order. Got home and the lids were not on securely two of the dressings and the dressings for the other still did not make it into the bag.EDIT: contacted store and was told all mangers are too busy to speak with me.
First time customers and treated so kindly. From the hostess to our server, Dixie, all the staff were found to be polite. The decor is a bit rustic and fairly cared for. Wheelchair access was good for an older building. However, we almost missed a fantastic meal because the parking lot was a bit confusing for us and the handicapped spots are too narrow. But oh the food was really good! I had the best fried oysters I've had in probably 20 years. My wife had the fried shrimp that had been done to perfection. Great value for lunch (we both had the single side option). It won't be long before we return to Carey Hilliards.
Love the food. Ordered online and the order was on time. The grilled shrimp and fried shrimp were fantastic and the hush puppies were awesome. The fries are nothing special. No salt or seasoning Wish they were better, but me and my girlfriend love this place.
We always had a good experience here. I decided to get the grilled salmon and it was the best I've ever had! Awesome job!!
Ate here with family visiting from out of town and the food was great, service great and definitely recommend.
Overall the food was very good, and our waitress was super friendly and very helpful. My son did have a gnat in his drink glass but they took care of it. We are in Georgia so I can't hold that against them. The building is a little older but it was clean. The restrooms were also clean and looked well maintained. We came with a big party and had no major issues. It was an overall very good dinning experience and I would absolutely eat here again.
