They had a food truck at the Black Rifles store on our way through. We all had the shrimp Po boy. It was fantastic! Their bun wasn't all bread like most of their competitors. Plenty of shrimp and a great flavor. Their hot sauce was great too. Highly recommend them

For ten years the Air National Guard and active duty units of military folks came to work at the bases near by. At night this was the spirit of Savannah. The music blaring and locals heading from the open market we followed like the enchanted to the river front. After that first night we were hooked. Chief played his heart out and sang with an unequalled repertoire from volumes of chord and lyric sheets. He knew where every song would be and played flawlessly. Years afterward have visited and it is as though you still expect him to be there. I would tip that glass to him, to Walter, and all those who often embraced this fabulous place. I still tell people about the Bayou Cafe and its ambiance.

I ordered the jambalaya…. It was really good, however the portion was about 8-10 ounces for $13 dollars plus $1.50 tip I gave before I saw the portion size. Again, it was very good but the portion size was way to small.

This food truck set up at the Port Royal Beer Garden recently. I was thrilled to get some red beans and rice and they did not disappoint! The beans were flavorful and when I added their hot sauce had just the right amount of kick. My husband had the fish po’boy which had great seasoning. The bread was nice and soft. All in all a great pairing to local beer, music, and a view of the river.

We walked all over the area and couldn't find them. We ate at The Cotton Exchange Seafood Grill & Tavern. We all had a great dinner & enjoyed ourselves! Bayou Cafe is toast!

The bartender who served us was really attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. Was expecting more (or any) flavor from a restaurant that is Cajun themed. It was obvious that it was understaffed because the bartender was bartending as well as waiting and bussing tables.

I would give negative stars if possible. I think they must have changed management, owners or there is a rogue bartender running off customers.I visit Savannah often and the Bayou Cafe is (used to be) one of my favorite places. I have dined there many times and recently found a favorite beer on tap there. We brought some first timers there for lunch, drinks and college football on the tv. The bartender was very pretentious and rude. We ordered a beer brand I have had there several times and the bartender told me they don't carry that brand. I told him we just had it two weeks prior. He said he wouldn't want the kind of people who drank that brand in the restaurant. We were literally the only people in the restaurant and we left.My friend, who lives in Savannah, is in sales and will never take another client there again. I won't go back and would suggest no one else goes there until they change their attitude. Go to the Warehouse down the street.

DELICIOUS, we came here with some friends and will definitely be back anytime I'm in the area, the crawfish was fantastic

Good service, good food, very small place. Food is reasonably priced. Live music at 8pm.

Fun, friendly place. Great music, pool table's upstairs. Great food.
