Had to wait 10 minutes to be seated in an entirely empty restaurant. Service was slow and they were out of candied bacon for their signature dish. Musician at the bar was LOUD.
Very disappointing evening. Brought an out of town guest to 22 Square for dinner. Service was not only slow, but more like non-existent. It took an hour and 15 minutes to receive our dinner. Keep in mind they have a small menu. A server told us, after we flagged her down, that they were having an issue in the back with their order machine. They did bring us a free appetizer and give us a discount on our bill. With so many excellent restaurants in Savannah, skip this one and go somewhere else.
Didnât stay
the dishes need a little more pizazz, southern food??
My family dined here on a Wednesday evening. We were the only ones in the restaurant area; others were in the bar. This is quite the hidden gem in Savannah. Wonderful service, wonderful food. Get the Shrimp and Grits, you will not be disappointed.
Short rib and bacon was delicious. Service wasn’t horrible but they didn’t check in with us very often.
No no no no! There can be no chef in this kitchen. I hear Gordon Ramsey yelling " Taste the Food!" Anyone rating shrimp n grits 5 have clearly never had it before.. waffles are dry. Burger overcooked...too much sauce on everything.. even gravy does taste good.. fried chicken taste like Tysons frozen chicken. Theres no salt in the grits! How? This place comes up as Soul food. FAAAR FROM IT.Sorry..they just have to do better.
Dined here for breakfast several days. Breakfast was very good! Great menu and selections. Everything prepared was to our liking. Service was also very good. Ann waited on us two mornings and she provided excellent service and helped us plan our day in Savannah. We tried to make dinner reservations. We called multiple times in advance and no one ever answered. So we did not dine here for dinner. It was a shame because the restaurant looked available every night. We tried one night to enjoy a drink at the bar. They had a live DJ and the music was crazy loud and mostly rap music. We did not enjoy it and ended up leaving. We are in our 30s and thought it was too much / akin to a Miami South Beach vibe. Was surprised by the check. Had a bourbon on the rocks, and did chose my own liquor (Widow Jane 10). It was a $60 bottle retail and they charged $30 for a single pour. Seemed way excessive.
Very loud, out of everything, had to ask twice for drinks, and left without eating.
We got the short ribs and it was excellent...moist, tender and great flavor. They don't have a big menu but dinner was really good. Our server was really nice too!
