awesome cooking staff and an amazing front of house

BEST FRIED GREEN TOMATOES EVER!

The meal and experience turned out to be a five out of five because of Amy, the general manager. The harvest Moon Café is one of the few restaurants in Rome which serves a brunch menu. So it is fairly crowded on Sundays. They usually don’t cook their eggs to order because of the crowd - and that was explained to us. But we asked, and finally got our simply DELICIOUS brunch meal with a hard fried egg. The ingredients are super fresh and the food reflects it. As a customer, what I most appreciate is great food, honesty - and service. Amy, the general manager explained the misunderstanding to me and i understood perfectly. She followed up by keeping an eye on our table and even bussing it when she thought the wait staff was too slow. Strongest possible recommendation, Martin

Half the beers on the menu were unavailable. My wife waited so long for hers we canceled it. The “Philly Cheesesteak” was flavorless hamburger, and the macaroni and cheese was equally bland.

Shrimp and grits...advertised as large shrimp, maybe they were moderate size. Grits were mor like rice in consistency, little flavor. My wife ordered Thai Red Curry Chicken, not sure if meat was chicken, blandest and dullest curry ever. Beer selection was good. Looks like if you order a meat and two sides, your experience will be better.

I read reviews on how good the burger was so I tried it. It was average at best. The meat was dry. The bun wasn't good at all. I wouldn't go back to order the burger anymore. Very disappointed after reading the previous reviews.

Harvest Moon Cafe has been a long time favorite for us especially the Sunday brunch. We were planning our Easter dinner and thinking of the easy option of dining at the cafe as we have a few times on Easter Sunday. I stumbled onto a family meal carry-out option while checking their website for details about their plans for the holiday meal. It sounded like a good option for us so I placed my order. The process was very easy with helpful staff. The food was ready at the appointed pickup time and that was seamless as well. They assisted me to the car with the carefully packaged meal. I had everything I needed to feed the crowd with no hassle at all. Warming instructions were provided and proved to be very accurate. The food was delicious to say the least and the beef tenderloin was absolutely wonderful being cooked to perfection with savory herbs. It was tender, juicy and flavor was excellent. I fed a crowd of eight with seven being men and grown boys. They all had their fill and had plenty of leftovers to take home for supper. I couldn’t have been more pleased at the exceptional quality and value I received. Kudos to the crew for a job very well done.

Harvest Moon has the best Fried green tomatoes in all of Georgia. The tomatoes are big and juicy, not mushy like most places. The batter is pure perfection, not too seasoned or salty and the dollop of cream cheese topped with a jalapeno is pure ecstasy.Enjoy!

We returned to Harvest Moon after not having visited due to the pandemic. They've upgraded their menu and change some things about the facility, which in my opinion improved it. The service was quick and attentive in spite of the very large crowd. The food was very good. I highly recommend the sweet potato chips and the meatloaf was delicious. It's definitely worth your time if you are in Rome to stop at Harvest Moon.

We were up from Texas visiting some friends that have moved up here. They highly recommended the place and so we went with them last night, Friday 25 March. Our friends placed an online reservation on the website for 6:45pm and when we arrived we were advised they don’t take reservations on Friday night despite the fact that our friend received a text confirming the reservation! We decided to sit upstairs on the rooftop room and were promptly served our drinks, but one recommended cocktail on the menu was not available upstairs for some reason. We ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizers and received them promptly and they were delicious. Having already placed our entree orders we sat and enjoyed our friends company. After several drink reorders we realized it had been an hour and a half since we ordered and no sight of our food nor had our waiter stopped to update us on any delay. I managed to grab the waiter and inquire as to the status of our order and he said he had no idea and went to check. He returned about five minutes later to say that apparently our ticket had been lost. He said that the manager and he decided to comp our appetizers and that a rush had been placed on our order. After waiting another thirty minutes and seeing the orders of other diners who had arrived well after us arrive and no word from our waiter we decided to give up. Went downstairs to settle our bar tab and management didn’t seem to be to concerned that we weren’t served! Very disappointing experience and needless to say, we won’t be back nor will our local friends! We do understand the shortage of help during the current environment and as such are very generous with our tips. However, the quality of servers in general is less than desirable for a restaurant of this one’s reputation! Owners and management really need to take a tighter hand in training and supervision!
