Visiting from NY, I was excited about trying out a local BBQ joint so we found Whiskey BBQ on google and decided to go there being it was 5 min away! On Sunday 6/12/22 around 9:40pm while walking up it seemed to be lively and it was indeed. Upon entering the establishment we weren’t greeted by the bartender, but by two customers sitting at the first bar. The bartender instead proceeded to look at her phone and ignore us instead of acknowledging us as new patrons. When the bartender finally decided to acknowledge our presence she began to scold me for having a bottle of water with me which I agreed to leave in the car as this was my first time there and was unaware we weren't able to bring in bottled water… we just wanted Anything at this point because we were hungry ….we walked in around 9:40 and was told there was no more food soWe said okay and left. Upon leaving the establishment the same bartender decided to start making nasty faces behind our backAs we walked out , we only caught her because my best friend just happened to turn around and see her.It’s sad we never got to taste the food, but we can agree that the bartender was nasty and will never return here again. Would of been nice to support a black owned business, but our people should learn to be nicer to one another .. especially as women!As a visit
First time visitor. I 'll say one thing, you will certainly know that this is a black owned business when you leave. The serve was not good! The bartender is nice and quick to take your order. I had to wait about an hour and fifteen minutes for my food. I ordered two of the $22 rib tips (1 lB. of rib tips) dinner. I paid her $44 and taxes, plus $8 tip. They had a wedding celebration going on and apparently those folks had ordered food before I ordered. The bartender made me aware of this news after I requested my money back. She went to the back to check on my food and returned with good news that mines was coming out next. It was about 6 minutes later. I didn't check the rib tips before I left. Now that was a huge mistake! The cook and the bartender only had a 1/2 LB of rib tips in the to go plate. I was furious! I guess they gave me the $14 rib tips dinner. Don't plan to go there again, unless I have time and money to burn.
I walked in excited to find out there was a restaurant/ lounge in my area close to home. But walked out very disappointed. The bartender was on her phone and ignored my friend and I. She was extremely unprofessional and very combative. All I asked was, was the kitchen still open!Employees make or break an establishment. If I decide to give the place a 2nd chance I hope the employees have better customer service skills.

Went for late night grub, enjoyed the wings and the collards and baked beans. I’m from the Deep South and we know BBQ. I felt like this satisfied that need/craving. Those jerk chicken egg rolls were the bomb!
First time eating hear yesterday always try to support black own. But then I see why I don't cause it's always a get over. The bar lady was taking my order some reason the price was different from the menu she talked to the lady that made the price and she stated to me she couldn't give me the price that the tips was ringing up for which I didn't care about spending the money I just was craving for some good ole rib tips. Went ahead and paid the money so as the bar lady was taking my order she told me to wait so she could go take someone else order I didn't walk out and leave cause I Said is this real the rib tips was plain the sauce was made with hot sauce and sugar never will I go back
Nice adult crowd. Tasty wings. Live band. Excellent DJ. Professional staff.
Definelty a community bar and BBQ spot to kick back and enjoy yourself. I come here every week to sit back and enjoy the Live music, amazing food, and the staff is great too. Honestly if you are looking for a place to have a good time this is the spot to be.
I only bought peach cobbler. I've purchased it before but this was the not as good. Temperature was not consistent throughout, it just seemed to have some other crust I wasn't familiar with. I didn't notice any dumpling pieces in it.
My hubby ordered 2 of the Shrimp and Chicken Cajun Pastas for us yesterday evening after leaving the barbershop next door. When I tell you it was seasoned very well the chicken and the shrimp was fresh and it was a nice portion for the both of us it included garlic bread, I'd definitely give it five stars and recommend it for others to try kudos to the chef it was delicious.
