I ordered Smothered Chicken over rice. Collard Greens and Mac and Cheese. The chicken is dry, the rice is hard and the collard greens are gritty. The side of Black Eye Peas was satisfactory. I payed a total of $25.07. Not happy at all! Prices are going up on everything. I understand that, but Please give me what I'm paying for!!!
Went in on Saturday 6/11/2022 @2:30p, requested 2pc fried chicken….was told by the workers they are not dropping any chicken anytime soon. No one seemed to care that it’s advertised that they sale fried chicken. Imagine my surprise when I was informed of this. Neither worker seemed to care that there is a menu item not available because they are not dropping chicken anytime soon. Not, because they are sold out. Needless to say I have no plans on patronizing this business and any of its locations in the metro Atlanta area. To the owners, train your staff to handle these type situations. Not dropping chicken because you’re out vs. not dropping anytime soon, indicates poor appreciation for the customers that keep you in business. I simply left and went across the street where they have chicken they are dropping now and appreciate their customers.
Bought a lunch vegetable plate. I was told it did not come with a drink even though the menu says ALL lunch plates come with a drink. I asked the cashier why the menu says otherwise, she stated it's been that way since the grand opening. Absolutely ridiculous!!! We have to do better. Out of curiosity I went to the Fayetteville location a couple days later. They had the exact same menu and theirs came with a drink.
I was wondering when I pulled up to the restaurant why at 7:00 on a Friday evening there was no line and it wasn’t until I moved over to the pay that I discovered the price for a sandwich and 2 sides has increased from $10.49 to $17.49 and still they request a 15 percent tip to dish your food in a take out container. Total bill accessed to my card was $20.50 with no drink or dessert which explains why no one else was in the restaurant, and the food in the warming pans looked like it had been there for some time.The food was not bad, but honestly not much better than the meat and two sides you can get at the Kroger deli a mile down the road for $6.00.
The rib tips were too hard to eat. The greens were not cooked enough and had large stems in them. I eat greens, not stems. This is the final straw. I WONT BE BACK! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!
Late Post (Ordered March 23rd). Everything was delicious for the most part, the baked beans just weren't it for me, I'll be skipping those next time. The fried whiting is always just right! ?
OMG!!! So, I've been on an Ox Tail craving mission! I had a really bad experience this weekend at another Soul Food Restaurant! Today, I decided to stop by "This Is It" in Riverdale around noon! I decided to order the same meal I order on Sunday (Ox tails, Mac & Cheese and Greens!! First, the customer service experience was phenomenal!! Second, the food is amazing! The Ox tails are literally melting in my mouth! The seasoning was on point! The Mac & Cheese is uhmm uhmm so good! Also, I ordered some potato salad and sweet potato souffle! Omg!! I'm so impressed! The potato salad taste just like my grandmother used to make and the sweet potato souffle is off the chain..( you can tell I come from the 80's era)! Thirdly, they have a 2 for $35 dinner special with desert! It's not about the money; however, there was an almost $20 difference in price and a awesome experience from start to finish! Omg what can I say!!! Every single lady on the front counter was AMAZINGLY SWEET!!! I will return more often and food was so delicious!!!! Get the turkey wings with that gravy omg!!! Lawwwddd
Customer service: waited 30 minutes to get fried pork chops when it wasn’t busy. They forgot to give me my food.Then when paying, I ordered a large drink. They hand me a small. Said they are out of large cups but charged me for a large.Food: as you guessed cold…I’d suggest going to another location. Good franchise. Not the best location.
I visited today around 2:30 pm to order the 2 for $32 making that clear to the order taker only to find when I reached the cashier that the catfish I ordered for the second meal was an additional $5+. I shared that I did not know that and the woman taking my order did not mention the up charge to me. The cashier stated that it's advertised and that "everyone" knows that premium food items cost more. She then told me that I would have to go back and stand in line to reorder the second meal. She slid the first meal which was already bagged back down the line to the order taker. When I finally made it back over to her, the order taker asked me what was wrong and I told her that I did not realize the catfish would cost more. I found the cashier to be rude, loud, matter of fact, and belittling. Like all of this was bothering her. It's not fair to assume everyone who walks into your restaurant through the front door is familiar with the menu and the prices. Be patient and polite if you want repeat customers. Needless to say, it made me feel bad as I stood there so I told them never mind leaving two prepared meal trays on their serving line for someone else to eat. Perhaps they'll make that person feel welcomed and their patronage appreciated.
