Ignore the health ratings! Okay maybe don't ignore the health ratings. However every time I have come to this place I've never gotten sick from the food. I've ordered the char-broiled oysters which are amazing. Not quite New Orleans worthy but very good. But the crab leg cluster. They cook it right so that when you crack them open they come out perfectly intact. I've never had a place that cooked them so correctly that it was nice and easy to plot the crab leg. Plus they season them wonderfully. However I've had places that like over season to where you were having to reach for your water. Not the case. Perfectly seasoned at this place. And it really cool chill atmosphere
We were visiting our son who works in hospitality management in Savannah and went out for a casual dinner. I was originally under the impression that this was chain seafood restaurant, but it’s not. While the atmosphere is a bit of a dive bar, it had a noisy fun diverse crowd and delicious food. We enjoyed fried pickles, calimari ( I normally don’t like calimari, but I kept trying just one more so good and well seasoned) , a shrimp boil, crab leg boil, and fried shrimp. We shared all of it. Fabulous,. I would go back. The only drawback was the overworked , yet pleasant waitresses ( only 2) working the bar, serving diners, taking takeout orders….
If your looking for fine dining this is not your place. If your looking for good solid food, decent pricing and good portions then go here.Since we’ve moved to Savannah this is my go to for the Shrimp Creole and Jambalaya. Both a little on the spicy side, but, I love spice and I always have leftovers for the next day.Today we had the Shrimp Creole, Shrimp Fettuccine and Teryaki Wings. The other photo is of their Seafood Platter that some else ordered and my wife asked to take a photo of it because it looked so good. I definitely recommend Bahamas Bob’s.
We were greeted as soon as we entered & immediately seated. They weren't very busy and seemed to be fully staffed. Our waitress was also our bar tender, she had our drinks right...lolol.. Our order was taken & it didn't take long for the food to come out. It was hot and tasted good... We had the Shrimp dinner with ? and shrimp/oyster dinner with Red ?... All on All a good experience.. I would return again!!
The food was alright. Seafood was fresh. I wish there was more seasoning in the crablegs, potatoes and sausage. I've been here in the past and the seasoning was on point. But overall, a good meal. The service was okay as well. The shrimp was Very fresh and full of taste.
The restaurant was nice, food was great, w TVs and loud music playing. However; the customer service was very poor because our Server was waitress, cashier, bartender, and manager. They were all doing too much instead of making sure we were pleased.?
This review is more about the hostess we encountered last night rather than the business itself. Went in around 7pm last night. Upon entering we were greeted with "I'm not sure when a table will be available". Then a blank stare as if we were just supposed to turn around and leave. So I eventually asked "That's fine, do you know how long the wait will be?". Her response was "no clue" and another blank stare. I started to get frustrated realizing I'm going to have to walk her through basic restaurant etiquette like a toddler. I keep my cool and say "Well, do you have a wait list or something where you can send us a text when our table is ready?". She responds "No, maybe something will open in 20 minutes to an hour". Realizing how ridiculous this sounds I tried to clarify my suspicion. I asked "So, you're telling us to comeback and just see if something is available later" and she actually responded "yes" as if she did not see the problem. Needless to say we immediately left and decided to just spend our money elsewhere. I can't really speak to the quality of the rest of the establishment, because we never made it past the door.On a side note we went to Shell House in Savannah. They actually were really packed when we showed up so after what we just dealt with we weren't optimistic. They handled it like complete professionals though. Immediately greeted us, added our names to the waitlist, and gave us an estimate of how long the wait would be. Not to mention the food was amazing. So I guess the one positive was that we ended up finding a really great restaurant that I highly recommend to all seafood lovers.
Southern feel. Good food! Crowded with limited seating. We had a short wait. No oysters when crowded.....we were told that option takes the entire grill, so it's not offered.
I'm a truck driver. Therefore, I do get tired of fast foods. I wanted to seafood, and Google sent me here. Mind you, it's just before 9:00 p.m. and it states they close at 1:00. I get here and they have posted on their doors the kitchen closes at 10:00 p.m. . I walk in and they tell me they just close their kitchen.. yet, I see someone eating. Not a good first impression.
It was just okay to us... The food was not bad, but it was not exciting either. It was priced like it would be great but we were left a little disappointed.Cool vibe but with the number of seafood restaurant selections in the greater Savannah area, I probably won't pop back into this place. It's worth a try though if you don't want to leave Pooler... I guess.
