Always excellent food. Never have to wait long to be served. Meg, who is normally a hostess, was our exceptional server today. She was cheerful, responsive and made it a wonderful experience.
I will NEVER come back to this place! I was visiting from out of town, and had a taste for some sushi. We decided to come here and get a to go order for some sushi. I waited and waited. Was told it would be a few more minutes, so I continued to wait. I then asked them could they check again after 30 minutes and was told that they haven’t even began on the order because it wasn’t received! Very poor service and consideration for customers.
Okay. Let me first say this has been my go to sushi place since Ginza closed during the pandemic. In fact, I have told several people about Ichiban and given recommendations to even strangers. We love to go to Ichiban as even the 3 year old will eat yellow tail or a Christmas roll and they have one of the best poke bowls in the area. However, with sushi, one bad experience can supercede all good experiences. Yesterday, my family went to Ichiban and my husband (who says sushi is his comfort food) made the comment that the fish color and texture didn't seem right. Fast forward 3 hours and all 4 of us had abdominal pain and nausea. My husband who had the most sushi ran a fever throughout the night and everyone had diarrhea. I can only assume we got a mild case of food poisoning with the timing and unfortunately we are now hesitant to return.
We like eating at this place, but this time our server barely attended our table. I asked him for water and it took him forever that I decided to ask another server for a water.
Service here used to be hit-or-miss mis but has improved considerably as it seems wait staff retention has improved. Now the service is fantastic. Only a small note that the way certain rolls are prepared may vary depending on the sushi chef. They're still delicious with fresh ingredients, but could be prepared a bit differently than the last time ordered. I can definitely recommend this restaurant now that they have hit their post-Covid stride on great food and service
Great food... Just go during off peak hours. The food gets prepared ahead of time on a lot of dishes. We have eaten here several times. The only time it was not excellent was on a saturday evening and it was super busy. Besides that the food is excellent. Teriyaki red snapper is oh... So good. Sushi eel is awesome.
From Sushi boats to Bento boxes to Hibachi plates. It’s all super delicious! We enjoyed ourselves immensely.
I am an absolute regular, to a point where the employees know my order and believe me, it is complex. I've eaten in, and ordered out and every time, it is so delicious. You want to go for lunch because you get the most bang for your buck. The bento box is what I get everytime with an appetizer of edamame. Sushi is always a deal during lunch with many options to choose from. When you order out, they make sure it is correct and that you have enough sauces to go with your food and by far the quickest in getting it done.
The sushi chefs here are exceptional! The food is always good, the sushi is the best in ptc. We love this place! The waiters are always very good and attentive and the night manager is so nice and helpful. Top notch!
Quick meal for sushi and a cocktail. Fast and attentive service, well made martini, and great sushi. The atmosphere is warm and private with big booths.
