I went there this Monday around 7:12 and they were busy, I personally hadn't seen it that busy on a Monday in awhile. As busy as it was the ladies working there handled everything in stride and with smiles. The main 2 reasons for the stars is because I ordered this meal from the all day special section and it offered a fountain drink for a $1 and $2.00 for a bottle. I asked for the fountain drink and was told that it was a lunch special but on the sign it didn't advertise that at all but they made it right for me. The last thing is that even though they were busy I waited over 30mins for the fish nuggets and it only takes a few minutes to cook. The few people in front of me had cooked to order as well and it was chicken, all I know is that fish cooks faster than chicken which is why I ordered it, so I wouldn't be late for work. Other than that everything was OK.
As a tourist, I selected this place for southern cooking and I was not disappointed. They are concerned about health, requiring masks and have tables spaced for distancing. I selected fried tilapia which was prepared fresh. My sides, baked beans and macaroni and cheese were served from prepared foods at the counter, similar to a Chinese restaurant. They were both flavorful and delicious. I selected a corn muffin which was also tasty. The staff were cheerful and friendly. I spent $20 for my meal without a drink so it was not cheap. But the quantity was so great that I will have two meals and everything tasted good. Had I not found this on TripAdvisor, I might have missed it because it’s on the side/back of the building it’s in and the only signage is on the building. I recommend you support this business!
Rice was undercooked, and the rib tips had a questionable taste. Not too sure about the freshness of the meat. We ordered a sweet potato pie that was very good. The 2 dinners we ordered was not good, but the pie was excellent. We go at least every couple of months because the food is pricey, but after this experience we may go back ONLY for the sweet potato pie.
Their prices are ridiculous. They charged me $2.91 for a 12 ounce drink and when I asked what happened to the big cups I was told they don't have the tops for them. I just spent over $25 for 4 wings, 2 sides and a drink.
I ordered $50 worth of food. Two rib plates, and dessert. I’m use to going to the location in lithonia but thought it would be the same. The ribs? Great. Everything else? Was awful!!!! The collard greens were tough, undercooked, and unseasoned. The Mac and cheese? Tasted boxed. I was SOOOOOO upset. This location was 20 miles from my home and the only reason I didn’t return it to get my money back was the drive. The sign on the door said masks were required but it was not enforced! Covid is still out here in these summer streets. I will not return.
My husband and I got the 2 meals for $35. Which was pretty reasonable. My food (vegetables) was great until I began to eat my meat (entree). I ordered the 7 hickory wings; they looked great on the sign. The server only had six left. I was offered a fried wing for the seventh wing. I WISH I’d ordered the fried wings. The hickory wings were nasty. The sauce was good but the wigs were overcooked and I couldn’t chew the meat. I ordered an extra side (sweet potatoes). It was over $6. That’s ridiculous for an individual side for one person. Maybe add an individual size or smaller size container for additional sides. However, I’m just glad they were good for $6. My husband ordered pork chops and he said everything was good.
If I could give this restaurant a 0 stars I would the food was absolutely disgusting. It was cold the wings tasted like they had been sitting in the fridge for days then reheated they had no seasoning or smoked taste to them. The sides had no seasoning to them!!!! My friend got the Turkey chops they were cold and the only thing you could taste was garlic
The rib tip were delicious. I do think the sauce could be a little thicker. It was as if I could not get enough sauce on my ribs. The greens were flavorful. I wished I had gotten a double portion. All in all it was very good. I would go back.
Love the 2 for 32.00. Had enough food on my plate to eat for 2 days. My daughter loved her plate. Mount Zion was the location. The seating area was not clean but the serving are was very clean. The servers had excellent customer service.
I just left this location, DO NOT EAT HERE!!! I spent too much money to have food that I'm unable to eat. Turkey chops were HARD, DRY. AND DISGUSTING. Mac and Cheese taste old, rice was so dry you can't chew it and the cornbread was old and crumbling, I WILL BE BACK FOR MY REFUND!!!!Update: I went back today and the Manager James took care of the issue, he was very nice and respectful and apologetic about the situation. I am glad that he stepped up and fixed the problem, BUT THEM 2 CASHIERS THAT WAS IN THE FRONT NEEDS ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENTS!!
